A deep, purple hue leads ultra-ripe blackberry, boysenberry, briar and cocoa aromas in our 2007 Rockpile Road Zinfandel. Across the midpalate, a complex layering of rich, dark fruit develops, balanced by complex wood tannins that flank the tongue and pick up bright currant notes through the lengthy finish. “A wine with shoulders,” explains Winemaker John Kane. “It makes an excellent companion to similarly brazen flavors such as osso bucco, braised short ribs or herb-encrusted rack of lamb."
Wine Spectator
Ripe and lush, this is loaded with zesty, lingering flavors of licorice that follow aromas of black raspberry, pepper and toasty sage. Drink now through 2014.
