WOW, What a Deal!
2012 Oraison Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Notes from our Oenologist, Sylvain Colson: Though thirteen different varieties of grapes, including seven red varieties, are authorized for this appellation, I have chosen four which will lend a multitude of aromas and flavors to this Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Grenache gives smoothness and richness, Cinsault, fruit and freshness, while Syrah gives lovely length which is balanced by the tannins of the Mourvèdre grapes.

Tasting notes: This wine’s beautiful deep, dark color reveals aromas of jammy fruit and prune underscored by a touch of licorice and roasted notes. Structured and full-bodied on the palate with well-integrated tannins. This is a rich, delectable wine with great ageing potential. $40 Our Price $19.99 (Arrives this afternoon) Delicious!

Winemaker Notes: Rich and bold, this Zinfandel is hand harvested from select, sustainably grown Old Vine blocks from 35 to 104 years old. Gently pressed, this wine goes through an extended fermentation to further enhance the zesty black fruit flavors that have made this irresistible wine our most popular and sought after offering. Spicy and fresh flavors are complemented by accents of licorice and sandalwood. Medium to full bodied with enticing aromatics and a smooth clean finish, this versatile wine goes with everything from pepper seared ahi to a thick medium rare bacon blue cheese burger and will always make any gathering of friends and family a more festive affair. $14 Our Price $9.99

2014 Sobon Paul’s ReZerve Zinfandel

Winemaker Notes: From Paul Sobon's own hand-farmed sustainably grown 83 year-old vineyard come this classic Sierra Foothills Zin. Medium to full-bodied, bright garnet, with effusive, perfumey aromatics. This silky, well integrated wine has laser beam fruit that literally explodes on the pallet. The flavors are reminiscent of fresh blueberries, wild blackberries and ripe summer plums with hints of toasty vanilla, anise and white pepper and a rich, elegant finish. Proportion and balance define this limited release. This rich, zesty offering is best enjoyed with spicy, heartier fare such as Hunan style beef, Texas style baby back ribs and lamb burger sliders with melted Gruyere cheese. $24 Our Price $16.99

2016 Cliff Lede Napa Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaker Notes: The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is loaded with aromas of Meyer lemon, short bread, honeysuckle, ginger, and tangerine. Spring blossoms of wisteria and orange abound in the upper register of the seductive perfume. The full-bodied, coating mouthfeel expands out on the palate with a rich crème brûlée-like texture as unctuous notes of Bosc pear, orange marmalade, and lavender honey coalesce along the long, satisfying finish. $25 Our Price $19.99

Wine Spectator 93
2015 Bedrock CA Old Vine Zinfandel

Rich and supple, this is an explosion of pure, decadent fruit. Floral huckleberry and Chinese five-spice powder aromas open to layered blackberry, dark chocolate and licorice flavors that linger. Drink now through 2026. $25 (Back in stock this afternoon)

2014 Pont Neuf Chardonnay “Pont Royal” Russian River

Winemaker Notes: The 2014 Pont Neuf “Pont Royal” Chardonnay showed a bold personality right from the juice to finished wine. It reminds us of our 2010 from the same vineyard, huge in stature yet so light on its feet. While retaining all the fine characteristics of the Zio Tony Vineyard, it also presents silky-weighted fruit with heady aromatics of Meyer Lemon, toasted brioche and white peaches. Goldridge soils in the vineyard lend broad and complex mineral flavors and generous texture to Pont Royal. $55 (Back in stock this afternoon)

2013 Rudius Cabernet Sauvignon Panek Vineyard St. Helena

A vineyard made famous by Thomas Rivers Brown, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Panek Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from clone 337 in St. Helena. This is a stunner with a beautiful floral fragrance interwoven with blueberry and blackberry fruit, graphite and incense. It is dense, full-bodied with the blue and black fruits continuing across the full-bodied palate. The wine has superb purity and moderate tannin. This wine should drink well for 20-25 years. $88

Ridge Vineyards 2014 Lytton Springs

The 2014 Lytton Springs is another absolutely gorgeous wine. Perhaps because of its relatively recent bottling, the 2004 feels a bit compressed, but there appears to be plenty of complexity and depth hiding behind the acidity and tannin. Far from an easygoing Zinfandel, the 2014 Lytton is a wine to buy and cellar for at least a handful of years. The wine's richness, persistence and vertical intensity all lead me to believe it will be special in time. Black cherry, pomegranate, mint and sweet spices meld into the resonant finish. A kick of tannin from the Petite adds personality, something the 2014 has in spades. $40 Our Price $35.99

2013 Staglin Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Both 2013 Cabernet Sauvignons are in bottle, and both are absolutely magnificent wines, probably the two finest Cabernets made by the Staglins to date. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford (14.9% alcohol) has a stunning fragrance of lead pencil shavings, spring flowers (or is it violets?), sweet blackcurrant and black raspberry fruit, and a layered, opulent, rich and full-bodied mouthfeel. Add to that striking purity, equilibrium, and serious but finely grained tannins, and this is their finest Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon made to date. It has at least 30-40 years of life ahead of it. $250

Wine Advocate 95
2013 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon M Etain

The 2013 M. Etain Cabernet Sauvignon, which is hardly a second wine by any means, offers beautiful blackcurrant fruit with some cedar wood/sandalwood notes, an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and that layered texture that is so enticing. The wine has a beautiful opaque purple color, hints of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a touch of licorice and the soil undertones that some would say are part of the so-called "Rutherford dust" scenario, although that's debatable. This wine has the sweetness and opulence to be drunk young, but won't hit its prime for at least another 5-8 years and keep for 20-30. Market $160-$225 (One bottle available at $190/bottle)
