Aromas: Black Currants, Spice, Talc. Flavors: Red and Black Berry, Plum, Minerals. The Margarita Vineyard is the southernmost vineyard in the Paso Robles appellation. It is actually much closer to the town of San Luis Obispo than Paso Robles. The vineyard is also located closer to the Pacific Ocean than most other vineyards in the Paso Robles appellation. It's just 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean at an altitude of 1000 feet. This location results in perfect conditions for growing cabernet Sauvignon with warm days and cool nights. The resulting wine has an abundant intensity of fruit, but still maintains balance and freshness. In addition, hillside plantings and shale outcroppings with lots of fossilized sea shells give the wine a mineral thread uncommon to most red wines at this pricepoint. The wine was produced and bottled by Broadside a few miles east of the vineyard in the town of Creston.
