Winemaker Notes: Drawing on aspects of all of our vineyards, our 2015 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir is a wonderful expression of what the region has to offer. Dark fruit, leather, and toasted oak with light overtones of honey evolve into blackberry, cola and cherry, opening to include chocolate shavings and floral accents. 2015 Carlisle Napa Valley "Palisades Vineyard" Petite Sirah

Winemaker Notes: Shimmering black-purple in the glass. Opaque. A beautiful nose of black raspberry and huckleberry complemented by notes of violets and black licorice. On the palate, medium-full bodied with flavors of blackberry and blueberry that linger through the long and gently tannic finish. Very civilized and polished, showing a more genteel side of the variety. (Petite Sirah in its youth can sometimes be a bit rough and surly.) Enjoyable now with a decant, this will age well. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Reserve is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, aged 20 months in 50% new French oak. This has a more saturated purple color, a glorious extract and richness, built with a solid inner core of essence that is pure, dark and impressive. Some dusty/loamy undertones are present, but the dark blackberry and cassis fruit dominate this full-bodied beauty.
