Capbern 2014 Capbern Saint Estèphe, Bordeaux

The 2014 Capbern is bold, ripe and quite juicy. Although not especially subtle, the 2014 possesses striking aromatic nuance, power and intensity. Dried cherry, licorice, herbs, tobacco and mint add attractive aromatic topnotes, but it is the wine’s juiciness that stands out most. This is a strong showing. The 2014 offers plenty of near- and medium-term appeal, but also has enough structure to drink well for at least a number of years. Tasted two times. 2017 – 2024. Our Price $22.35

2013 Catena Zapata Catena Cabernet Sauvignon

I found the 2013 Catena Cabernet Sauvignon superior to the 2012. It is fresher and has more focused, clean aromas and a livelier palate even though the fruit seems to have reached a better ripeness despite being a colder vintage. There are spicy aromas and a touch of ink. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very good acidity and balance. You can drink it now but it will hold a few years in bottle. Some 280,000 bottles were produced. $20 Liquidation Price $10.95 (Limited to stock on hand)

2014 Pahlmeyer Napa Merlot

The 2014 Merlot is a blend of 94.5% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec. It has a dense purple color, although not as saturated as the 2015 or 2013, with a beautiful fruited nose of blackberry, plum, chocolate, mocha and espresso. The aromatics are killer and then the wine hits the palate with a medium to full-bodied lushness and an expression that says, "Kiss me!" This is a delicious, front-end loaded, full-bodied Merlot to drink over the next 15 or so years. $85 Our Price $76.99

Wine Spectator 94

2012 Harris Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Lakeview Vineyard

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Lakeview Vineyard is another massively concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon with a dense purple color, lots of blueberry and blackberry fruit, along with floral notes, sweet tannins, lush opulent mouthfeel and a full-bodied personality puts it right in the wheel-house of the Treva's in terms of quality. Stylistically, it's much closer than dissimilar. The wine is very broad, rich and impressive with a velvety finish that argues for immediate gratification, but this one will last 15 or more years. $125

2014 Peter Michael Winery Au Paradis Cabernet Sauvignon

Their newest vineyard acquisition in Oakville has produced the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Paradis, which used to be the Showket Vineyard on the red soils of the Oakville corridor near Dalla Valle, Rudd and Screaming Eagle. Aged in 100% Darnajou casks, this cuvée of 2,300 cases is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Cabernet Franc. Pauillac-like in a somewhat Lynch-Bages style, this meaty, fleshy wine has plenty of crème de cassis, licorice, cedar wood and forest floor. It is full-bodied, opulent, and a beautiful example of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that should drink well for 25-30 years. $225
