2015 Sailor's Grave Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Sailor’s Grave is Napa Valley Cabernet in its purest expression. Aromas leap out of the glass - tobacco, cassis, blueberries, and bright red cherry. The mouth is creamy and expansive, with layers of boysenberry, milk chocolate covered cherries, and Tahitian vanilla bean. The palate is truly finessed, with a lovely integration of French oak to the wine's structure and flavor. The sweet smoke of lightly charred oak lingers throughout the lengthy finish. $40 Our Price $23.99

2015 J. Lohr Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes: The 2015 J. Lohr Hilltop is a great example of the J. Lohr house style of dense but soft Cabernet Sauvignon. Effusive blackberry and currant aromas are integrated with a bouquet of toasted hazelnut and cocoa powder from 18 months of French oak barrel age. Bright fruit on the mid-palate finishes clean and invigorates the appetite for an array of rich menu items. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot. $34 Our Price $26.75 (Back in stock this afternoon)

2017 Bedrock Ode To Lulu Rose

Our 2017 iteration of this wine is one of my favorites to date. Made from old vine Mataro/Mourvedre (75%) and Grenache, this wine extracts the limpid essence of beautiful old fruit and lets it show through nervy and delicious rosé. All lots for the wine were picked at low potential alcohol and whole-cluster pressed, leaving behind the signature faint salmon color. Despite the light color, this feels perhaps the most “Bandol-esque” iteration of this wine we have made – capturing the mix of savory Mataro and spicy and racy Grenache we love so much. This is dangerously drinkable stuff! $22 (Arrives 6/20/18)

Sommariva Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco

Winemaker Notes: A delicious aroma of citrus fruit and fresh herbs, with pleasant hints of bread crust, reach the palate together with exquisite energetic taste. The fine perlage enhances a bright straw colour and ensures a persistent flavour that cleans the palate and makes this sparkling wine excellent for the table: with simple or complex fish dishes and vegetable starters, white meats or, in the custom of its land of origin, throughout the entire meal. Exceptional served with sushi and sashimi. $16 Our Price $12.99 (Back in stock 6/20/18)

2016 Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay, Magnum

Winemaker Notes: Enticing aromas of vanilla, melon and mango are layered with apricot, creme brulee, butter and a slight minerality. Those scents are echoed as flavors on the creamy, rich palate, along with peach, pie crust and baking spices. The long, smooth finish is marked by mouthwatering acidity. $78

2010 Caymus Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is a beauty. Dense ruby/purple-colored, it is filled with creme de cassis fruit, supple tannins and an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel. The family believes in delivering exceptional pleasure and intensity to their wines, but they also have remarkable aging potential as the 1975 and 1976 Special Selections in my cellar bear witness. Market Price $90-$110 (4 bottles available at $110/bottle. Please email stan@grapetray.com)

2016 Beckmen Cuvee Le Bec

Winemaker Notes: Bright, floral aromas from the predominance of Grenache in the blend are followed by more bright fruits and spices in the mouth with nice mouthfeel and fine tannins carrying the flavors on the long finish. Blend: 46% Grenache, 39% Syrah, 8% Mourvedre, 7% Counoise. $20 Our Price $15.95

2001 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection

Caymus has been around for so long there is a tendency to under-estimate their wines. However, they have a brilliant track record as evidenced by the decade old 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Selection. Abundant chocolaty, black currant, licorice and coffee aromas soar from the glass of this perfumed wine. It exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color, wonderful opulence, a deep, full-bodied mouthfeel, fabulous depth and not a hard edge to be found. While seemingly fully mature, the supple tannins, expansive fruit and glycerin, depth and overall balance suggest it will keep for another 15+ years. Drink 2011-2026. Market Price $190-$288 (3 bottles available at $205/bottle. Please email stan@grapetray.com)
