New Release!
2017 Spottswoode Napa Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaker Notes: We are extraordinarily proud of our 2017 Sauvignon Blanc. In a vintage of such extreme heat, we were able to craft a wine that is ripe and textured, yet still retains its freshness—a notable achievement! The wine is mouthcoating and viscous, with a balancing acid tension and great mouth-watering juiciness. The beauty is there aromatically, with an initial impression of lime zest, lemon pith, and citrus blossom. It then opens to white peach, nectarine, mandarin, cream, with hints of vanilla and lime curd, both on the nose and on the palate. Rich and texturally enticing, with great balance and length. $43

2016 Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas

Looking first at the base 2016 Gigondas, it’s certainly going to be another outstanding wine from Barruol. Based on 70% Grenache and the rest close to an even split of Syrah and Mourvèdre, it offers classic St Cosme notes of dark fruits, tapenade, pepper and smoked earth. It has plenty of tannin and will need 2-3 years of cellaring and shine for a decade or more. Louis Barruol’s Chateau de Saint Cosme is unquestionably one of the reference point estates in Gigondas, as well as the entire southern Rhône Valley. The estate lies just to the east of the village and covers 25 hectares, with 15 of those in Gigondas. He makes a classic Gigondas as well as four single vine releases from single vineyards located around the estate. The wines are not destemmed and aged mostly in older barrels, with a small portion in new barrels. $60 Our Price $49.95

Ceretto Arneis Blange 2016

Winemaker Notes: Fruit and minerality, aromatics and balanced freshness, coexist in this white wine that has made enjoyment and versatility its trademark. Medium straw in color, this wine offers aromas of pears, apple blossoms, beeswax, and almonds. On the palate, the Blange is soft with round, nutty flavors overlaying subtle minerality. $25 Our Price $20.99

2015 PONT NEUF “LE BRUANT" PINOT NOIR Russian River

Winemaker Notes: “Le Bruant” is named for our village in the Haute Côte de Nuits of Burgundy, less than a dozen houses gathered around a source which brought delicious water all the way from the Alps.

It comes from the gently sloping hills of Goldridge soil in the Martinelli Zio Tony Vineyard where the summer mornings are often foggy. The landscape is gentle and quiet and produces wonderfully elegant pinot noir. The flavors, however, take us back to the hills above Burgundy where the locals hunt pheasant and wild boar and produce the best cassis. “Le Bruant” is the perfect combination of rustic backcountry flavors and the refinement unique to pinot noir. The wine is brilliant ruby and red-violet, in spite of being un-filtered. Sweetly perfumed aromas of Huckleberry and Pomegranate mix with earthy forest floor and intensely pure red fruit flavors. The fine balance of acid and ripe fruit keeps it lively on the palate carrying the flavors to a lingering finish. We recommend decanting at this early stage of development. 50 cases produced. $75 Delicious!

2015 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia has slightly muted black cherries, crushed black plums and cassis with hints of licorice, black soil and cracked pepper plus a waft of tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, rich and expressive in the mouth, it delivers a lot of layers and wonderfully fine tannins, finishing long and earthy. $145

Damien Gachot has produced a wine that aims to please every Burgundy lover’s palate. Sourcing grapes from the village of Corgoloin in the southern end of the Côtes de Nuits, he presents a wine with the velvety character of the Côtes de Beaune while maintaining the structure and finesse of the Côtes de Nuits. 2013 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve

One of the great efforts of recent years, and not surprisingly so, is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve, a blend of 81% from Howell Mountain, 11% from St. Helena and the rest Calistoga and Mount Veeder. It is a blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot aged 20 months in 84% new French oak. At 15.2% natural alcohol, this is a big boy, but also classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with crème de cassis, graphite, licorice, and a touch of spicy oak. Winemaker Laurie Hook, who has since departed as winemaker, really hit a home run with this beauty. The wine could benefit from 7-10 years cellaring and probably last 30 to 40. When all is said and done, this is an instant classic, the wine full-bodied with oodles of crème de cassis, pen ink, graphite and baking spices. It is multi-dimensional, layered, and one of the all-time great Beringer Private Reserves – and there have been many. $165 Special price limited to 42 bottles arriving 6/30/18.
