2016 Austin Hope Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes: Dark ruby in color, the 2016 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon expresses aromas of freshly picked black currants, ripe black cherries and blackberries, with subtle notes of violets, mocha and dried spices. On the palate, it’s a big, powerful, modern-styled wine layered with heaps of juicy blackberry and cherry fruit, while nuances of cedar, clove, nutmeg and vanilla bean round out the long smooth finish. It’s full-bodied and rich, balanced by fresh acidity and firm, polished tannins. $52 Our Price $44.99

2015 Sobon Rezerve Primitivo

Winemaker Notes: Originally planted in the early 90’s on well-drained bench land, this dry farmed, sustainably grown block is now producing some of the most flavorful high quality fruit on the entire estate. Primitivo is the Italian clone of Zinfandel, and delivers a wine leaning more in the direction of rich plum-like flavors rather than blackberry. A full bodied wine of great richness and depth with a ripe mouth-filling viscous structure, and a smooth almost feminine silkiness that belies its bold character. Heady aromatics give way to a lush warm finish that makes this wine the ideal complement to the most savory and heartiest fare. FOOD PAIRING: Serve with leg of lamb, braised short ribs, duck confit and beef tournedos, or pasta with spicy sauces. $25 Our Price $15.95

2017 Priest Ranch Napa Sauvignon Blanc

2013 Schramsberg Cremant

Winemaker Notes: The Schramsberg Crémant Demi-sec is a delicate, off-dry sparkling wine: an American original. Crémant is French for creamy and traditionally refers to a wine with light effervescence. It has approximately half the pressure of our other sparkling wines and presents a creamier texture with more exotic flavors. Schramsberg made California’s first Crémant in 1972. After rigorous study, Jack and Jamie Davies chose a unique California grape named Flora (a cross of Sémillon and Gewürztraminer developed at UC Davis) to be the core component of this sparkling wine. Flora unites the fruit-forward character of Gewürztraminer with the strength and depth of Sémillon. Aging on the yeast for two and a half years prior to disgorgement adds complexity, yet the wine will retain its youthful appeal for 20 years or more. $39 Our Price $31.45

ORNELLAIA Bolgheri Superiore 2015

A big, brooding red, packed with blackberry, plum and earth flavors, all wrapped in spicy oak. Monolithic now, finishing with saline mineral elements, a leafy tobacco edge and dense, mouthcoating tannins. Terrific potential. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2038. 2,300 cases imported. –BS $255 Our Price $204.99 (Arrives 9/4 /18) Limited. Please email stan@grapetray.com

JEB DUNNUCK 100
2015 CHAPPELLET PRITCHARD HILL CABERNET

Also inky colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill comes from the estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill and spent 22 months in new French oak. It has a similar level of purity, as well as incredible minerality, to go with notes of crème de cassis, scorched earth, crushed rock, and graphite. Reminiscent of liking a rock with its insane level of minerality, this full-bodied beauty is tight and closed on the palate, yet is just loaded with potential. It’s only for those with cold cellars and needs forgotten for 7-8 years, but will keep for 4-5 decades. Bravo! $254 Our Price $234.99 (Arrives 9/4/18) Limited. Please email stan@grapetray.com if you would like to be added to the pre-arrival list.
