2017 Luli Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay

Winemaker Notes: Vibrant and lively. Luli Chardonnay is sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands, a cool-climate appellation that ensures bright acidity. The vinification captures this energy. The fruit is fermented in both neutral barrels (older cooperage that no longer imparts wood flavor) and tanks. While the barrels provide texture and lees contact, the tanks provide vibrancy and freshness. $20 Our Price $17.99

2017 Thread Feathers Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

Notes for our Orange County Correspondent: The 2017 vintage produced an outstanding opportunity for savvy vintners such as Canepa and Koch Wine Cellars (CKWC). CKWC was able to procure wine from a well known Rutherford winery who’s estate Cabernet Sauvignon captures a price just south of $300/bottle. With this superb Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, CKWC created the 2017 Thread Feathers Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark mahogany and almost opaque with blueberry, black cherry and coffee. Forward black and blue fruit, plush and polished. $30 Our Price $19.99

2017 Domaine Vocoret Chablis, Burgundy

Winemaker Notes: The Kimmeridgian (limestone-rich) soils that run through Chablis give the wines their characteristic minerality, which can also be described as gunflint, chalk and, in the wines of Vocoret & Fils, the taste of a wet stone. An exceptional village-level Chablis with three-fourths of the fruit coming from the famous “Les Pargues” vineyard in Prehy and the balance comes from a village-level vineyard located just next to Montee de Tonnerre. This wine captures the typical Chablis character with steely minerality, focused citrus expression and firm acidity. Serve as an aperitif or with oysters, seafood, snails, charcuterie, goat cheese, Gruyere cheese. $27 Our Price $22.99

Winemaker Notes: A classic expression of hillside Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, this luxurious wine displays concentrated aromas of ripe black cherry, cassis and dark chocolate, along with oak-inspired notes of espresso, cinnamon, clove and cigar box. On the supple, mouth-filling palate, elegantly refined tannins underscore the rich dark berry and blackcurrant flavors, with hints of nutmeg, anise and cedar adding sophistication to the long, voluptuous finish. $77 Our Price $66.99

Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Pinot Noir leaps from the glass, showing bright Bing cherry, tangerine oil, and hints of cedar. Needing ample time to open, it reveals bright juniper berry, cherry, black tea, and dried thyme across a broad mid-palate. Rich and silky, the finish is a tightly run race between each element on display. $65. (Grape Tray email subscriber price $18.25) We received our first order yesterday-sorry for the delay. Our second order will arrive today.
