2009 Doisy-Vedrines Barsac

Tasted at the château, the 2009 Château Doisy-Védrines already exudes impressive breeding on the nose with complex, beguiling scents of dried honey, quince, walnut and just a touch of barley sugar. The palate is medium-bodied with layers of viscous, honeyed fruit, superb acidity and wonderful precision on the finish. There is a sense of completeness and harmony to this Doisy-Védrines. The 2009 represents the apogee for the estate and a Barsac destined to generously repay long-term cellaring. $60 Our Price $51.99

Wine Advocate 95
2013 O'Shaughnessy Cabernet Sauvignon
Howell Mountain, Magnum

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is O'Shaughnessy's largest cuvée of wine, nearly 3,300 cases from her vineyard, with a final blend that is somewhat unusual - 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 5% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Carménère, and a rather obscure one, 3% St. Macaire. Dense purple in color, with notes of mulberry, blackberry, graphite and spring flowers, the wine has great fruit, a dense, full-bodied mouthfeel, and wonderfully sweet, well-integrated tannin. The acidity is sound, the purity impressive, and the wine long and reassuring. Drink it over the next 20+ years. $220/magnum.

2012 Heitz Martha's Oakville

Winemaker Notes: The 2012 Martha's Vineyard is a brilliant star, possessing incredible harmony and elegance. This Cabernet mirrors the near perfect growing conditions of the 2012 vintage. Connoisseurs will be most impressed with the impeccable balance from start to finish, and the sublime lushness that lingers on the palate. It accomplishes all this with exceptional sophistication and purity of varietal flavors. Internationally recognized for its classic style and opulent fruit, with a touch of mint for intrigue – Martha's Vineyard is a true Napa Valley benchmark for Cabernet $470/magnum

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Las Piedras Vineyard shows great minerality, wonderful black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, a sumptuous full-bodied mouthfeel, light tannin, low acidity and a fleshy, long finish. 2014 Pahlmeyer Napa Chard

The 2014 Chardonnay is light gold-colored with a greenish hue and beautiful, fresh tropical fruit flavors of pineapple, pear, honeysuckle and a touch of citrus. It is not as dense and concentrated as the 2013, but I love its vibrancy and beautiful subtleties and nuances. It is another top-notch effort from Pahlmeyer to drink over the next 7-8 years. $82 Our Price $69.99

Wine Advocate 95
2014 Walter Hansel Winery
Chardonnay Cuvee Alyce

The top Chardonnay every year is named after Stephen Hansel's mother. The 2014 Chardonnay Cuvée Alyce is a field blend of a Hyde and Hudson Old Wente. This vineyard always produces the smallest clusters and tiniest berries and, hence, the richest offering. It's a stunner in 2014, with a light straw/gold color and terrific notes of pineapple, white peach, honeysuckle and citrus oil. Full-bodied and rich with great acidity, beautiful purity and subtle oak, this is a stunner to drink over the next 7-10 years. $39 (Arrives 4/28/17)

2014 Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon
Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane is my favorite again of this grouping and has the potential to be a perfect wine, which is really hitting the bull's-eye in 2014. Plenty of gravelly notes, blueberry, blackberry and mulberry jump from the glass of this inky bluish purple-colored 2014 Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The good news is that there are 1,200 cases of this, compared to only 752 cases in 2013. It should drink well for 15-20 years. $300 Limited
