This will be one of the best aging of the Killian Chardonnays and should be optimally balanced about a year after release. $26 Our Price $24.99 Delicious! (Arrives 5/3/17)

2016 Lucy Rose of Pinot Noir

Winery Notes: Lucy Rosé was born in 2003 when winemaker Jeff Pisoni made only two barrels. Shortly after, the Pisonis decided they should make more and donate a percentage of the sales to the fight against breast cancer. The association of pink Rosé wine with the pink ribbon representing breast-cancer awareness seemed like a perfect match. Rosé wine can be made in different ways and from various grapes. The skin of the Pinot Noir grape used to make Lucy Rosé colors the wine, as the pulp of the berry does not contain color. The grape juice stays in contact with the skin just long enough to extract a limited amount of color. Afterwards, the juice is transferred to both stainless steel and neutral wood barrels that have been used several times and no longer have the oak flavor. The wine ferments in these vessels at cool temperatures to maintain all the aromatic potential of the wine. After fermentation, the wine ages for 3-4 months in cellar before bottling. The result is a lightly colored, very aromatic and refreshing Rosé to enjoy on many occasions. Only a limited amount of Lucy Rosé is produced each year so that the utmost care and attention can be given to the wine. $18

Capbern 2014 Capbern Saint Estèphe, Bordeaux

The 2014 Capbern is bold, ripe and quite juicy. Although not especially subtle, the 2014 possesses striking aromatic nuance, power and intensity. Dried cherry, licorice, herbs, tobacco and mint add attractive aromatic topnotes, but it is the wine’s juiciness that stands out most. This is a strong showing. The 2014 offers plenty of near- and medium-term appeal, but also has enough structure to drink well for at least a number of years. Tasted two times. 2017 – 2024. Our Price $22.35

The estate has a few hectares of noble varietals planted on red sandstone and volcanic rock that is representative of the archetypal terroir of Frejus. At only 15 km from the sea, the vineyards benefit from the cool air that flows in from the Mediterranean. Brilliant rosé. Pale pink hues, lovely colour. On the nose, we can find small red fruit notes. On the palate the wine is light and elegant. Crispy rosé! Enjoy as Apéritif, salads, grilled meat and cuisine using flavoured herbs. Grenache 30%, Cinsault 60 and Tibourenc 10%. $15 Our Price $12.99 (Back in stock this afternoon)

2014 Walter Hansel Winery Pinot Noir Estate

The 2014 Pinot Noir Estate is another realistically priced wine from Stephen Hansel and is a super value with its sweet cherry and raspberry fruit, allspice, subtle background oak and a medium to full body. It is a beautiful wine made mostly from Rochioli cuttings and a small amount of the Joseph Swan clone. Like most of these Pinot Noirs, it sees about 60% new French oak and the rest used barrels. All of these Pinot Noirs are bottled unfined and unfiltered just like the Chardonnays. $35

2014 Clos Fourtet Saint Émilion Grand Cru Classé, Bordeaux

A stunning, breathtaking wine, the 2014 Clos Fourtet is without question one of the stars of the vintage. Deep yet also wonderfully nuanced, it exudes energy and transparency. Enticing scents of violet, lavender, mint and chalk add to the wine's chiseled personality. The 2014 has gained considerable depth, volume and intensity since I tasted it from barrel as a young wine, but without losing its intensely mineral, understated personality. Today, it is exceptionally beautiful in every way. The blend is 89 % Merlot, 7 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 4 % Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times. 2020 – 2039. Our Price $83.95
