Barnett Vineyards Rattlesnake Hill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2017Winemaker Notes : The 2017 Rattlesnake is opaque purple at the core with a dark purple rim. At this very young stage the nose is expressing pure cassis concentrate, black plum, ground cocoa nib and anise. Numerous spices start to emerge from the glass; clove, pepper and bright cinnamon. Every return to the glass brings a new round of descriptors. Round upon entrance, the wine is very quick to the big chalky tannins at this stage. Coffee grounds, cooking chocolate and dark volcanic minerality dominate the palate. The tannins are certainly young and firm, chalky but very present, while mountain acidity comes in for balance. This is one of the biggest Rattlesnake Cabernets we have ever made, where at 18-19 years it will start to show a beautiful bottle bouquet and still have some youthful fruit (2037-2038)
Sea Smoke Ten Pinot Noir 2018Winery Notes: A brooding and intense wine. The aromas begin with notes of Elderberry, Freesia and Fig, then a myriad of savory spices, and a hint of lavender. Firm, mature tannins—evidence of Ten’s ageability—are followed by a long, velvety finish.

Carmel Road Panorama Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016Winery Notes: Rising from the wide mouth of the deep, cold Monterey Bay, the Arroyo Seco AVA is located 40 miles up the Salinas Valley, nestled to the west on the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains. Directly in the path of the ocean’s relentless influence, fog and fierce winds sweep over the vineyards, making this one of the coldest wine regions in California. The maritime climate combines with well-drained, alluvial gravel soils to produce Pinot Noir with bright, vibrant fruit flavors.

Chateau de Saint Cosme Côtes du Rhône 2019Winery Notes : Be warned – this is a stellar vintage, the greatest since the extraordinary 2010. Of course, 2016 is great too, and even 2015, which in Saint Cosme was memorable. But there is a freshness, an intensity, an evanescence, something undefinable that is charming and vibrant in the 2019s. What is the explanation for this? The intensity of the fruit after a dry summer? Rainfall in October that rounded out the wines? No one can say. Why didn't the vines suffer from the dryness this year? I don't know. Wine remains a largely unknown discipline, and therefore offers an ideal opportunity for those who have a sense of observation, a spirit of analysis and an artistic soul. The 2019 Côtes du Rhône Saint Cosme is the best since 2010. A wine with a substantial structure, it is also brimming with fruit and shows great concentration, counterbalanced by the finest freshness. In a dry vintage, concentration affects all the component parts of the fruit: not just the sugars, but the acids, water (which does not concentrate but disappears...), tannins, colour, aromas... etc... This natural phenomenon produces something we all love: intensity. Character and identity are subsequently multiplied tenfold. The fact that nature should be able to offer us these gifts is an absolute joy. These wines are suitable for either drinking or keeping. They will bring us joy and surprises. They will become advocates for what I would call ‘the red wine cause’. We live in an era of white wines, rosés and sometimes even unripe grapes – which is an aberration. This is the age of sparkling wines and ‘wine drinks’. But 2019 is a gentle reminder from nature and a timely opportunity to set the record straight. Blackberry, smoked bacon, charcoal, blueberry, rose.
Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Clos des Myglands 2018Winemaker Notes : The nose reveals notes of black and red fruits combined with subtle woody and smoky notes. Mayacamas Mt Veeder Chardonnay 2018Winery Notes: 2018 marks our team's fifth vintage of Chardonnay. We began harvest on August 28th and finished on September 14th under ideal conditions. Hand sorted and pressed whole cluster, the Chardonnay was fermented and aged in barrel, puncheon and foudre with 10% new French oak. 12-months aging in oak built texture without eclipsing the delicate white flower notes that make this vintage so attractive. Overall, 2018 is lively and fresh, featuring acacia blossom, lemon zest, marzipan, and green pear notes underpinned by lingering salinity. A firm acid backbone will make for a mouthwatering finish over the next 15 years.
