Giovanni Chiappini Guado de Gemoli 2010

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

Wine obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon 80% and Merlot 20%. It's refined in small barrels of french oak for 12 months, and presents itself with a deep/rich colour of ruby red with gently pomegranate reflections; the parfume is particulary elaborate with notes of ripe fruits, spices, vanilla, ink, tobacco and cocoa; regarding the gustative quality: it's a wine with an important tannic structure and a good aromatic persistence, with a long and clean final. This is a right wine for a long or medium aging and able to go well with important meat dishes, game and mature cheeses.

Wine AdvocateThe 2010 Bolgheri Superiore Guado de- Gemoli almost touches the impossible heights of its predecessor from the excellent 2009 vintage. It is my convinced impression that 2010 offers a very showy and flamboyant interpretation of this 80-20 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend. The density is a bit deeper and the aromas are a tad brighter. Compared to the other wines in its blind flight, the Guado de- Gemoli appeared the darkest and most endowed with Indian spice, black soya, espresso and blackberry essence. Finely chiseled mineral tones of granite and smoke snap it back into immediate focus. Give it another ten years of cellar time. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028.

Wine EnthusiastPlush wine, it's made from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. It starts off with aromas of black berries, plum and stewed prunes along with a whiff of cedar. The warm, low-acid palate delivers mature black cherry, black currants, tobacco and black pepper alongside big, ripe tannins and the warmth of the noticeable alcohol. Drink through 2020.
