Accendo Cellars Sauvignon Blanc 2015
The complex nose of this wine is precise and detailed, exhibiting intense minerality, green notes of crisp pea shoots, and cool citrus aromas of Kaffir lime and Ruby Red grapefruit, while floral notes of loquat and honeycomb complement the fresh fruit character.
On the palate, the wine is mouthwatering and juicy, with a saturating wetness that fills the mouth, and its long, lingering finish gives pleasure with a steely persistence. Notes winemaker Françoise Peschon: This wine has great energy and liveliness with a satisfying succulence and great length, exhibiting the sophisticated characteristics of a perfectly ripe blend of Sauvignon and Semillon varietals.
Composed of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Musque and a splash of Semillon, the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is scented of white peaches, grapefruit and lemon curd with touches of honeycomb, elderflower and a waft of wild thyme. Medium-bodied with a lovely satiny texture, the palate features a great intensity of gorgeous honeyed stone fruit flavors and a wicked acid backbone, giving lift to the long finish.
A dense, phenolic wine, the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc captures all of the intensity of the vintage in its ample, oily texture. Even so, there is notable cut to the orchard fruit, lime and mint flavors. In 2015, the blend is 78% Sauvignon Blanc and 22% Semillon. This is a gorgeous wine.
