Roar Roar Pisoni Pinot Noir 2014
Our 2014 Pisoni Pinot Noir offers a generous tapestry of deep, dark fruit woven with threads of brine and evergreen. Cherry cola aromatics give way to black cherry and hints of plum on the palate, accented by savory olive, tobacco, and candied herbs. As the wine opens, blackberry and black currant emerge, and a layer of bright red fruit brings added lift through a long, rich finish of spicy wood, forest and cola.

VinousBright magenta. Highly perfumed aromas of black raspberry, boysenberry and cherry cola are complemented by hints of potpourri and star anise. Seamless and fleshy in the mouth, offering juicy dark berry, bitter cherry and vanilla flavors and a suggestion of spicecake. Expands steadily on the impressively long, energetic finish, which features harmonious tannins and a resonating floral pastille quality
Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard, which took a full 30 days to ferment dry, is a beautiful wine. Giving up lots of red fruits (I normally find more dark fruit from Pisoni), crushed rock, spice and spring flowers to go with a medium-bodied, tight, vivid and fresh profile on the palate. It’s nicely balanced, and while it needs a year or two of bottle age to come together, it will have a decade of overall longevity.
Wine SpectatorNotes of baking spices, nutmeg and cinnamon add dimension to the delicate plum and wild berry flavors, held in check by dusty, cedary tannins.
