Marques de Grinon Caliza 2012
Deep purple in color with ruby reflections, this wine shows alluring notes of blackberries and cassis with undertones of cinnamon and minerality. On the palate, it is beautifully full-bodied and silky with refreshing acidity and flavors that unfold into the long-lasting finish.

Wine AdvocateThe 2012 Caliza is named after the limestone (caliza is the Spanish word for limestone) dominant in the Valdepusa Estate soils in Toledo. It's a blend of 40% Syrah and 30% each Petit Verdot and Graciano. Most of these reds mature in newish French barriques for some ten months. The oak is nicely integrated and there is a core of ripe black fruit and balsamic notes. The palate is soft and juicy, with fine-grained tannins. Very pleasant. 92,000 bottles were filled in July 2015.
Wine SpectatorSmoke, licorice and menthol notes frame cranberry and kirsch flavors in this lively red. Chewy tannins and balsamic acidity lend structure to support the extraction. In the modern style. Drink now through 2022. 7,665 cases made.
