Jones Family Vineyard Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Much has been said about the 2013 vintage being regarded as one of the finest growing seasons in decades. We were given all the environmental advantages one could hope for to produce remarkable Cabernet Sauvignon. Having worked with this vineyard for the last 6 years, we have a farming strategy that completely maximizes the potential of this exceptional site. Combined with 2013’s exceptional growing conditions, we knew this vintage would bring together a memorable wine in the glass. Tightly packed aromas of blackberry, cinnamon, dark chocolate and graphite swell out of the glass. Over time the palate profile releases layers of crushed blueberries, cassis, and nutmeg. The tannin that frames the rich, decadent notes contributes a strong mineral quality that begins in the middle of the palate and carries through to the long, nuanced finish. This wine has a classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon profile and reflects the pinnacle of winemaking from the Jones Family Vineyards Estate

VinousThe 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, which spends 20 months in about 80% new French oak, is a beauty. This wine has broad blackberry and black raspberry flavors, a judicious touch of toasty oak, soil notes and broad, savory, rich, full bodied flavors. This comes from northern Napa Valley from a south-facing hillside overlooked by the esteemed combo of winemaker Thomas Brown and vineyard managed by David Abreu. 94 points Robert M. Parker, Jr. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is darker, rich and more powerful than the Sisters Cabernet. Savory herbs, smoke, licorice and spices are some of the signatures. This is another up-front, highly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon endowed with tons of personality. The 2013 will be even better in another year or two, once the tannins soften a bit further, but it is pretty delicious, even today.
