Taittinger Prelude Grands Crus NV
Taittinger Prelude, a non-vintage blend of Grand Cru sites, uses around 50% Chardonnay from the Cotes des Blancs and 50% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. This Champagne expresses real finesse and lots of aromatics on the palate, and a lovely honeyed finish.
Wine EnthusiastMade only from grand cru vineyards, this latest release from Taittinger is in a crisp and dry style, profiting from ripe fruit, lifted with citrus and kiwi fruit flavors, a pure line of acidity and a hint of soft toast.
Wine SpectatorFine and lacy in texture, this clean-cut Champagne in an aperitif style offers a subtle mix of patisserie apple and pear, lemon zest, pickled ginger and orchard blossom notes. Fresh, with a lightly toasty finish. Drink now through 2019. 600 cases imported
Wine AdvocateThe NV Brut Grand Cru Prelude is equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from Grand Cru vineyards. This shows a compelling balance between the weight of the Pinot and the freshness of the Chardonnay in a soft, creamy style that is appealing. This is Lot L9346TA01300, disgorged October, 2009 (not indicated on label). Anticipated maturity: 2010-2015.
