Winery Notes:

Our 2016 Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cabernet is another remarkable 100% Cabernet from the acclaimed Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena. The 2016 vintage is exceptionally plush, showing earthy spices and dark berries, highlighted by black olive. On the palate, the strong structure and backbone are followed by smooth, firm tannins, and velvety black fruit.

Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is deep garnet-purple in color and reveals expressive black cherries, blackberries and warm blackcurrants with hints of violets, black olives, Indian spices and cigar box. Full-bodied, rich and powerful, the palate is filled with well-poised black fruit layers and firm, grainy tannins, matched by bold freshness and finishing long.

Easily the standout here, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard comes from a terrific site outside of St. Helena and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep purple-colored with a mineral-laced bouquet of red and black fruits, tobacco leaf, bouquet garni, and hints of loamy earth, this beauty is medium to full-bodied, has a plush, rounded textured, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It has the class to shine today as well as keep for 15-20 years or more.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is ripe, rich and exotic. Super-ripe red cherry, maple syrup, raspberry jam, mint, wild flowers and spice infuse the 2016 with tremendous character. The 2016 is unabashedly plush, opulent and ripe, but all the elements are well-balanced.

Steeped currant and plum fruit is layered with cocoa, tobacco and humus notes, ending with a toasty crescendo. A bit reliant on toast, but solidly built. Best from 2021 through 2030. 375 cases made.
