Roar Rosella's Vineyard Syrah 2017
Opening with cassis and leather on the nose, this Syrah melds a range of dense fruit with savory herbs and spices. On the palate, notes of blueberry develop into fig preserves and dark cherry syrup, along with herbed olives. Flavors and aromatics are lifted on the finish by perfumed violets and white pepper.

The 2017 Syrah Rosella’s Vineyard reveals a deep purple color as well racy notes of black and blue fruit, bacon fat, orange zest, and graphite. Rich, full-bodied, and powerful, it shows more olive and bouquet garni notes with time in the glass, has beautiful acidity, no hard edges, and a great finish.
VinousDeep bright-rimmed violet. Pungent, spice-laced black and blue fruit, floral, olive paste and smoked meat aromas, along with a building licorice quality. Stains the palate with intense black currant, cherry preserve, violet pastille and smoky bacon flavors that turn spicier on the back half. Smooth, well-knit tannins frame the impressively long, spicy finish, which strongly repeats the floral and olive notes. There'd be no extra points for guessing which variety this is when blind tasting.
