Joseph Carr Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from Napa’s acclaimed Rutherford AVA. Located in the center of Napa, Rutherford is bordered by the Mayacamas Mountains on the west and the Vaca Range on the east. The wine was aged in French Oak for 18 months and features notes of black currant, tobacco, coffee, black cherry, and toffee. Full bodied, plush tannins and integrated acidity lead to a persistent finish.
James SucklingA full and juicy red with lots of dried fruit, currants and dark chocolate. Soft tannins and a clean and racy finish. Pretty, dusty undertone. Drink or hold.
Wine SpectatorA big-league effort, with a firm, tight core of graphite-laced blackberry and wild berry flavors, shaded by spicy, chewy oak and tannins. Ends with a powerful aftertaste that bodes well for the future. Drink now through 2028. 1,730 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastRound, approachable and meaty like a pepper steak, this wine shows an upfront dustiness of tannin that builds strength on the back of the palate, supporting richer, riper flavors of baked blackberry and cherry.
