Winemaker's Notes:

Aromas of blueberry, dark plum, and blackberry jam blend with hints of sweet caramel  and cocoa powder.  In the palate, the ripe fruit is framed by powdery tannins. The well integrated oak and dusty tannins lead into a velvety finish with a nice touch of acidity on the end. This wine is a lovely balance of power and grace.

Wine AdvocateThe straight 2014 Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is a beauty. Perfumed, exotic and layered, with notes of black raspberries, blood orange and spice, it's medium-bodied, supple, charming and delicious, with no hard edges. Drink it over the coming 3-5 years. The blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 12% Syrah and a splash of Petit Verdot.

Wine EnthusiastBarrel aromas are in the lead, with notes of toast, café au lait, vanilla and caramel. The palate is full of cherry and barrel flavors, backed by lightly gritty tannins. Vanilla notes persist on the finish.
