Ferraton Pere & Fils Côtes du Rhône Samorëns Blanc 2016
Winemaker Notes :
This bright, pale-golden wine opens to aromas of white fruits and flowers. On the palate, it is nicely balanced with freshness provided by the Clairette while the white Grenache gives it body and a gentle softness.

Jeb DunnuckMade from equal parts Roussanne, Viognier and Clairette, the 2016 Côtes du Rhône Samorens is terrific white from a region that's producing more and more high-quality whites. Citrus blossom, brioche, crushed rocks and a touch of white grapefruit fruit emerge from this clean, crisp white that's going to age nicely for 3-4 years, if not longer.
Wine SpectatorBright and lively, with racy verbena and honeysuckle notes pulling a core of yellow apple and melon rind flavors along. Shows a flash of lemon curd on the finish. Roussanne, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Marsanne. Drink now through 2020.
Wine EnthusiastThere's a slightly coppery tone to this savory but easy-drinking, full-bodied white. Its rustic apple and pear flavors have a pleasantly cidery edge, accented by hints of earth and dried herbs. Fresh acidity brightens the finish. Drink now.
Wine AdvocateMainly Clairette, and spending its entire life prior to bottling in stainless steel, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Samorens Blanc is a neutral, citrusy white that's quite lean and crisp considering its southern origins. It's lively and refreshing, so drink it young while it still has its best attributes.
