Patricia Green Reserve Pinot Noir 2017
Winemaker Notes :
This bottling comes from terrific sources. This is extremely high-quality wine across the board. Four Dundee Hills sites ranging in vine age from 18-44 years make up about 30% of the bottling. Another third (slightly more) comes from the winery's Estate Vineyard and almost all of the rest from the Freedom Hill vineyard. What other Oregon winery blends such high-quality barrels and charges less than $30/bottle? There are seriously great bones here and this wine will stand up to many much higher priced bottlings.

Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico Famiglia Zingarelli Riserva 2015Winemaker Notes : Ruby red tending towards garnet. Rich, intense and complex. Dry, soft, gently tannic with good structure. This wine is particularly well suited to dishes of red meat, roasts and game.
Red Stitch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Tasting Notes: A blend of three Cabernet vineyards in Coombsville, the cool southern area of Napa, plus a touch of Malbec, this is a dense wine, chewy and opaque. It’s fragrant, highly expressive and savory on the nose: pungent cured olives; bay leaf. Despite its considerable size, it’s highly structured, with tannins and acid that have years of mellowing ahead of them, framing a core of brooding black fruit that hasn’t quite yet emerged in full force. A ripe, generous wine fit for a steak.
Vilmart & Cie Grand Cellier d'Or Brut 2013Tasting Notes: Intense, golden, lemon and yellow in colour with very fine persistent bubbles. These small pearls give birth on the surface to a beautiful white cord. Melted butter, custard, candled pineapple, cardamom and with pepper are the notes that reach us directly. Then after a few moment, another round of flavors arrives, nuts aromas at first (pralines, hazelnut) followed by mineral notes (chalk, roasted shellfish). The wine is mature, complex with a lot of personality. It still evolves in the glass with cinnamon and gingerbread aromas. The imperceptible dosage and the frank acidity give us a sharp acid / sugar balance extra brut type. The vinosity is expressed through bold and wood. The finish is very long around 10 to 12 seconds and clean, with a nice conclusion on grapefruit and pralines notes. Food Pairing: Too complex food pairing should be avoided to keep the wine balance. It firm texture and mature aromatic profile, will lead the wine to seek products preferably like caviar or with dishes with firm texture (lobster, white meats) and reduced sauces.
DuMol Wester Reach Pinot Noir 2016Winemaker Notes: Complex, layered aromas - red cherry, black pepper, hibiscus and orange peel - are wonderfully bright and fresh while cranberry and pomegranate, wild thyme and underbrush lend fine detail. The broad fruit entry possesses great lift - juicy and vibrant, then immediately deep and layered. The mid-palate is succulent and round with cherry liqueur and rhubarb flavors which extend on fresh acidity through the long, black peppercorn-infused finish. Drink between 2018 and 2026.

Vilmart & Cie Coeur de Cuvée 2010Tasting Notes : From a celebrated vintage and made from vines that are over 50 years old and . This translates into concentration on the palate, yet with aging gives this wine a finesse that is Vilmart's signature. Coeur de Cuvée is the heart of Vilmart's very best. All first-press, free-run juice, this has become an iconic Champagne. 80 % Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay fermented and rested in a mix of new and old barriques. Rich yet elegant, with spice and a creamy texture.
Taken Napa Valley Red Blend 2016Winemaker Notes: Dark garnet red with a purple hue. The nose of this opulent blend is incredibly flashy with abundant aromas of red currant, raspberry, blackberry cobbler, spice and a hint of underbrush. The French oak is subtle, yet present. This powerful wine boasts copious amounts of juicy, ripe red fruit characteristics and is extraordinarily soft and supple. In addition, hints of lingering milk chocolate and cherry truffle notes dance on the back palate.
DuMol Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2016Winemaker Notes: We harvested a strict selection from our three favorite micro-parcels within the wider Estate Vineyard: higher-elevation areas where the soils transition from fluffy/sandy to richer clay. As such, the wine balances sandy soil aromatic intensity—tart fruits, floral and spice notes, and an herbal vein—with richer, deeper clay-derived body and depth—cherry compote, dark fruits and obvious texture. There’s gorgeous elemental Pinot flavor throughout: zesty, linear and focused with a long granular structure that offers extended aging potential of 10 to 12 years. Start drinking your allocation sometime in mid-2019 but know the wine’s fullest expression will likely emerge between 2020 and 2024.
Ferraton Pere & Fils Côtes du Rhône Samorëns 2016Winemaker Notes : Grapes are destemmed, maceration for about three weeks, extraction made by pumping over and punching down. Garnet color with ruby reflects, very ripe red fruit, nicely structured with firm and meaty tannins, aromas of small ripe fruit and spices. Blend: 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% Cinsault.
Ferraton Pere & Fils Côtes du Rhône Samorëns Blanc 2016Winemaker Notes : This bright, pale-golden wine opens to aromas of white fruits and flowers. On the palate, it is nicely balanced with freshness provided by the Clairette while the white Grenache gives it body and a gentle softness.
Levendi Sweetwater Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winemaker Notes: A big, exuberant nose of mocha and black cherry aromas, cradled with notes of five-spice and black licorice. The palate had a pleasant jammy entry with plum and black cherry fruit. Plushy, velvety fruit on the finish with soft tannin to remember that it is really Cabernet.
Paul Hobbs Hyde Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017Dense violet in color, this exceptional pinot noir sets the stage with aromas of blue fruits and dried sage. Supple and earthy, the wine opens slowly with ripe flavors of blackberry, black cherry and hints of potpourri. The rich concentration of the wine is complemented by supple tannins and fresh acidity.
Paul Hobbs Richard Dinner Vineyard Chardonnay 2017Winery Notes: Deep straw in color, the 2016 Chardonnay from the Richard Dinner Vineyard offers singular aromas of holiday spice, gardenia, blood orange, and yellow apple peel. Delicate flavors of Forelle pear, rich, flaky pie crust, and earthy white and gray clays are complemented by the wine’s structural depth and weight, yet vaulted by an overall freshness and focused acidity. Highlight this wine’s complexity by pairing with Boudin blanc, fresh pappardelle pasta lightly dressed with lemon cream, or a fresh corn soufflé.
Peter Michael Belle Cote Chardonnay 2017Winemaker Notes: Very intense and powerful, the nose reveals hedonistic aromas of lychee nut, rose petal and orange blossom, with a background of mineral, candied orange, yellow peach, crème brûlée, nougat, whole nut and toasted almond. The rich seamless palate is very creamy and weighty in the mouth. Notes of pain grillé, marmalade, brioche and hazelnut coupled with natural acidity and minerality complete the mouth feel. The 2017 Belle Côte is enjoyable now and will continue to develop for a decade or more.
DuMol Ritchie Vineyard Chloe Chardonnay 2016Winemaker Notes: Certainly, the richest and most forward Chardonnay of the vintage, this is the designate to drink first; sometime in late 2018 is a good start date. The wine brims with yellow peach, nectarine and honeysuckle flavors, offset by more savory mint leaf, fresh thyme and sweet hay characters. While possessing a restrained power at its core, it is fruit-driven and layered with a broad textural range perfectly balanced by a lively acidic backbone that provides an element of tension to buffer all the natural richness. Drink between 2019 and 2022.
Patricia Green Volcanic Pinot Noir 2017Winemaker Notes : From the Dundee Hills one should expect sweetness of fruit in the mid-palate combined with a variety of spices common to Pinot Noir, but perhaps most decidedly is the nature of the texture. The wines from this region should have a remarkable silky nature with satin-y tannins that allow the fruit to linger. This bottling is a wine truly born of volcanic soils that shows all of these elements in spades and is the baseline for all our Dundee Hill bottlings.
Vilmart & Cie Cuvée Rubis NVWinemaker Notes : The color is pink salmon. The effervescence is long-lasting and leaves to a delicate mousse. This wine is rich and elegant. On the nose, it develops intense red-fruits aromas (strawberries and wild raspberries). This wine is full in body and well-balanced, very pure and full of interesting nuances
