Laird Jillian's Blend 2015
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
This visually attractive wine, has a deep ruby crimson hue when held to the light. The nose has balanced notes of vanilla, blackberry preserve, currants and warmed spices. The approachable tannins rest gently on the palate, complimented by favors of fresh blueberries, strawberry rhubarb and roasted coffee. The long, memorable finish leaves you yearning for the next sip. A perfect accompaniment to a thick grilled pork chop, with baked sweet potatoes.

A linear and fresh 2015 with firm tannins and pretty blackberry, blueberry and chocolate character. Full body, tight and focused. 67% Cabernet, 18% Syrah, 12% Merlot, 2% Flat Rock Malbec and 1% Flat Rock Petite Verdot. Matured in 40% new oak. 2389 cases.
Laird's 2015 Jillian's Blend is soft, supple and inviting, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. The dark red cherry fruit is nicely lifted by hints of cinnamon, cedar and wild flowers that also give the wine a lovely upper register of aromatics. In this tasting, the 2015 is quite tasty.
