Brewer Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2016
Winemaker Notes :
This bottling is comprised of 100% estate pinot noir from three vineyards within the AVA. 3D, Machado and Acin all contribute to the wine which exhibits a drive, richness and pedigree expressive of the special growing area coupled with the purity of fruit and firm structure which has been the trademark of Brewer – Clifton. The vintage shows aromas of pomegranate, white tea, and raspberry. On the palate, the wine delivers flavors of dried fig, white truffle, ripe cherry with a savory texture of rooibos tea.

Wine AdvocateThe 2016 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is a very good introduction to the Brewer-Clifton style, wafting from the glass with a nose of ripe cherries, candied red fruit, spice and dried herbs that's more fruit-driven than this bottling often is straight out of the gates. On the palate, the wine is supple, saline and medium-bodied, with nice energy and a crunchy core of fruit. This should drink well for the better part of a decade.
Wine SpectatorA chiseled red, with notes of underbrush to the dried raspberry and red currant flavors that feature accents of persimmon and pomegranate. Cardamom details show on the finish. Drink now through 2022. 4,676 cases made.
