Lucienne Lone Oak Pinot Noir 2018
|Region||California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands|
An intensely aromatic wine with notes vibrant red cherry and earthy mushrooms, followed by hints of bay leaf and black pepper. The complexity continues on the palate with flavors of fresh handpicked cherries, hints of vanilla and a toasty oak finish.
Shimmering garnet. Cherry, black raspberry, musky lavender and fresh-turned earth qualities on the deeply perfumed nose. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering bitter cherry and berry preserve flavors that become livelier as the wine opens up. Concentrated yet lithe in character, showing strong finishing thrust and even, well-knit tannins that frame lingering cherry and floral notes.
Dense aromas of cranberry, crushed rock and sage blend the fruit, earth and herb elements quite well on the nose of this bottling. The palate balances rich cherry and dark-strawberry flavors with touches of dried mint and turned loam.
Sleek and well-structured, with graphite notes accenting the firm dried red fruit and spice flavors, with cocoa powder and Kenya AA coffee accents on the finish. Drink now through 2023. 930 cases made.
