Drinkward Peschon Entre Deux Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
|Region||California, Napa Valley, Calistoga|
Our Cabernet shows a deeply saturated purple color with notes of black cherry, plums and cassis, offering up alluring aromas of white flowers, bittersweet chocolate and freshly roasted coffee, along with wood based spices of cinnamon and nutmeg. The wine is pure and silky on the palate, with plush, velvety tannins. Savory spices and a firm mineral vein linger on the broad finish.
Juicy and enticing, with a brambly edge to the mix of red currant and damson plum fruit, expanding nicely before ending with a fresh edge on the finish. Sneakily long, this is a stylish expression of copious Napa fruit. Best from 2020 through 2032. 610 cases made.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Entre Deux Mères is another stellar wine from Lisa Drinkward and Françoise Peschon. Bright and wonderfully nuanced, it conveys tremendous freshness and energy. Black cherry, plum, lavender, licorice and dark spice notes build into the creamy finish as this stylish Cabernet Sauvignon shows all it's got. Readers looking for an affordable wine that captures the greatness of the 2016 vintage will find that here. As always, the Entre Deux Mères Cabernet is built on a core from Turnbull's Blossom Creek (also known as Amoenus) in Calistoga, with dollops of fruit from a handful of other sites.
