FEL Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017
|Region||California, North Coast, Anderson Valley|
Winemaker Notes :
Heady aromatics of black currant, rose water, and blueberries leap from the glass of this intensely perfumed Pinot noir. Exotic flavors of tamarind, marionberry, and cola mingle with hints of coffee, mint, and violet. The mouth is layered and richly textured, with a long, silky palate that leads to a long finish.
Unctuous and ripe flavors of dark plum, cassis and cherry tart are filled with crunchy acidity and supported by fine-grained tannins. Creamy midpalate, with a long, plush and well-spiced finish that is loaded with sanguine richness. Drink now through 2025. 396 cases made.
Precise and very focused, this medium- to full-bodied wine offers vibrant red- and black-fruit flavors, great acidity and moderate tannins. Delicate oak spices trim the delicious, energized fruit flavors and everything tastes balanced and well defined. Best through 2025.
The 2017 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is a pretty mid-weight wine. Crushed flowers, mint, blood orange and ripe red berry fruit are nicely laced together. I would prefer to drink the 2017 over the next handful of years.
