Mathilde Chapoutier Grand Ferrage Rosé 2018
|Region||France, Provence, Côtes de Provence|
Color: Clear pale pink with purple highlights
Aroma: The combination of Grenache (grapefruit), Syrah (sage / herbal notes) and Vermentino (Peach, White Flowers, Citrus) are very well balanced on the nose.
Taste: The palate is round and delicious with strawberry, grapefuit and apricot notes and a silky mouthfeel. Bright acidity balances the round texture.
Limpid orange-pink. Bright and sharply focused on the nose, displaying intense cranberry, pomegranate, blood orange and floral scents and a vibrant mineral overtone. Lithe and nervy in the mouth, showing juicy red berry, citrus fruit and floral character and a deeper cherry note that emerges on the back half. Finishes smooth and dry, displaying a repeating mineral note and strong, floral-tinged persistence.
This rich wine is generous in structure, making it quite food friendly. Its smooth texture and bright fruit are lifted by bright acidity and an edge of tannins. Freshness lingers on the finish.
Orange blossom, white peach, and spice notes all emerge from the 2018 Côtes De Provence Grand Ferrage Rose, a juicy, vibrant rosé that has a distinct sense of minerality. Based on Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Rolle, it’s another smoking good rosé I’d be happy to drink.
