Lafond Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2017
|Region||California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills|
The 2017 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a deep ruby color. Delicate aromas of raspberries and violets combine with mild notes of cherry cola. Stewed Bing cherry, truffle and dried lavender complete the palate. This light-bodied red wine has strong tannins, and can easily stand up to smoked meats, game birds, or teriyaki salmon.
Aromas of stewed cranberry, nutmeg, dried roses and a hint of meat show on the nose of this bottling. There's plenty of vibrant, peppery acidity on the sip, as well as cracked pepper flavors, alongside baked raspberry and sour cherry.
This taut red features crisp red fruit and berry flavors, supported by glistening acidity. Lithe midpalate, offering ample slate notes. The finish lingers with dark chocolate hints. Drink now through 2024. 3,700 cases made.
