Frédéric Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 2018
|Region||France, Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertin|
Supple in texture, this red boasts cherry, black currant, graphite and earth notes. Starts out very elegant for the appellation, picking up firm tannins and more weight on the long finish. located in the north of the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin is world-famous, not only for its superlative Grand Crus, but also for all its other vineyards. On the south part of the village, the Clos Prieur Premier Cru is close to Mazis-Chambertin.
This wine is great with simply cooked rare meat, rack of lamb with a herb crust, seared duck breast and mushroom based dishes.
Expressive, revealing purity to its cherry, strawberry and currant fruit. It's all about finesse, the silky texture and harmony. Floral, mineral and tobacco elements chime in as it plays out on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2038. 100 cases imported.
