Clos Des Brusquieres Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2019
|Region||France, Rhone, Chateauneuf-du-Pape|
|Brand||Clos Des Brusquieres|
Color: It has an intense and brilliant red color.
Aroma: The nose is very complex, with floral notes of lavender, blackberry and blueberry jam, raspberry and cherry liqueur, strawberry jam, licorice and white pepper.
Taste: In the mouth is deep, with a large and fresh attack, a nice rise in the mouth on greedy aromas of leather and myrtle. The finish is fresh, with a nice bitter note and a great length on licorice, cherry kernel and floral notes.
This is tight and grippy, but has a live wire of racy iron-edged minerality spreading out from the core, providing a matrix for the myriad of plum reduction, cherry paste, red licorice, sweet bay, lavender, cassis bush and juniper notes to build off of. A wild brambly feel drives the finish. Distinctive and should provide plenty intrigue as it ages. Best from 2024 through 2036. 8,500 cases made, 600 cases imported.
Brilliant ruby. Spice-accented red and blue fruit, floral and spice qualities on the expansive nose, along with a hint of musky garrigue. Juicy raspberry, boysenberry, candied lavender and licorice flavors smoothly blend depth and energy and betray no rough edges. The long, focused finish features smoothly interwoven tannins and a strong echo of sappy red fruit.
