Taub Family Vineyards Morisoli-Borges Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
|Region||California, Napa Valley, Rutherford|
|Brand||Taub Family Vineyards|
Deep, black, garnet-purple in color. Displays beautiful layers of dense, concentrated, dark fruit, with a powerful, voluminous mouthfeel underscored by dusty tannins and well-integrated toasted oak. The voluptuous mouthfeel and polished structure build in intensity to an exceedingly long finish, accentuated by the mouth-coating tannins. Pure black cherry, plum, and black currant combine with subtle sweet notes of vanilla, crème de cassis, licorice and cocoa powder, intertwined with more complex hints of graphite, crushed slate, candied nuts, and roasted coffee beans.
A robustly rich and densely concentrated expression of the vineyard in a warm vintage, this wine tastes of cinnamon and clove atop blackberry pie, with soft, supple tannins and well integrated oak. Good tension and texture provide energy and length.
Another late-release 2017…has a complete feel, with juicy blackberry and plum notes mixed with a sleeker cassis accent, all backed by dark loam and roasted cedar notes. Shows a solid graphite underpinning on the finish to support it all.
