The 2024 Margerum Cinsault is a deep violet with blue undertones. Lifted notes of fresh dark berries, saddle leather, and the wild herbal essence of Santa Barbara garrigue and sage. Vibrant black fruits lead on a plush, rounded palate. Bright, juicy, and mouth-filling with a freshness that calls to mind Cru Beaujolais.

There's no reason that this still relatively obscure Rhône variety should remain obscure. A lighter shade in the glass, this pops on the nose with hibiscus, raspberry punch and an intriguing incense note. The palate is peppery and herbal at first before the joyous waves of red fruit and compelling earth elements arise. Plant more please.
