Only 98 Cases of the 2021 Romulus were made from old vine Petite Sirah. Opaque garnet-purple in color it needs a lot of swirling and shaking to unlock very pure notes of crushed blackberries and black cherries, plus nuances of aniseed, black truffles, damp soil and bay leaves. The super rich, impactful full bodied palate is densely laden with black fruit and earthy layers, supported by firm grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing very long and savory. It will need a good 5-7 years of cellaring, but it should be well worth the wait.
