Georg Breuer Estate Riesling Trocken Rauenthal 2023
| Category | White Wine |
| Varietal | |
| Origin | Germany, Rheingau |
Winery Notes:
Hand-picked Riesling fruit transported swiftly back to the winery. Meticulous selection (limited yield of around 35 hl/ha) followed by gentle pressing. Fermentation in stainless steel, where the wine remains on its fine lees for a few months before bottling.
Mandarin, grapefruit, pear and herbs on the nose. The palate is at once electrifying, precise, elegant, vibrant and playful, showing great tension on the finish.

Elegant and playful with a wonderfully cool personality, this is a charming expression of an appellation that can be quite austere. It does turn decisively in the stony and pointed direction in the long, expressive finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The 2023 Rauenthal Estate opens with clear, bright and ripe fruit with some pink nuances intertwined with terroir-driven depth and also saline nuances. Rich and lush but elegant and refined on the palate, this is a generous yet precise and stimulating fresh and citric Rauenthaler with a persistent texture and flesh and stimulating bite. Substantial without being heavy, this is rather baroque from a coolish terroir. 11% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024.
