Walter Hansel South Slope Pinot Noir 2015
We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.
Made from 100% Dijon clone 777, the 2015 Pinot Noir South Slope had the largest yields of any of the parcels in 2015, although still way below normal production. The deepest color of many of these Pinot Noirs, the wine has loads of damp earth, spice box and forest floor, this is a deep blue-fruited Pinot with a lovely texture, plenty of body, surprising concentration and richness. This is a stunner from 18-year-old vines. Drink it over the next decade or more.

Wine AdvocateMedium to deep ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir South Slope opens with notions of black cherries, wild blueberries and raspberry preserves with suggestions of forest floor, mossy bark and fungi with a waft of rose hips. Medium to full-bodied, it sports incredibly intense black and blue berry flavors with earthy accents and a fine-grained frame, finishing long and refreshing.
VinousThe 2015 Pinot Noir The South Slope Vineyard is a powerful, earthy wine. Leather, smoke, tobacco, spice and scorched earth complement the dark-fleshed fruit nicely. Today, the South Slope is more about intensity than sensuality. It is one of the more reticent of the 2015s in this tasting.
