Carlisle Palisades Vineyard Petite Sirah 2016
We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.
Shimmering black-purple in the glass. Opaque. A beautiful nose of black raspberry and huckleberry complemented by notes of violets and black licorice. On the palate, medium-full bodied with flavors of blackberry and blueberry that linger through the long and gently tannic finish. Very civilized and polished, showing a more genteel side of the variety. (Petite Sirah in its youth can sometimes be a bit rough and surly.) Enjoyable now with a decant, this will age well. Drink from 2018 through 2034.

Wine AdvocateOne hundred percent Petite Sirah from vines planted in 1968, the 2016 Petite Sirah Palisade Vineyard is very deep purple-black in color with very pretty notes of lilacs, black and red cherries, mulberries and sandalwood with hints of menthol and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, refreshing and elegant, it has a gorgeous texture of firm, fine-grained tannins and tons of perfumed black fruit layers, finishing long and minerally. 515 cases produced.
Wine SpectatorSpirited, dark and potent, yet polished, with blackberry, smoky anise and licorice flavors that build speed toward big but refined tannins. Drink now through 2025. 575 cases made.
