McGah Family Cellars Scarlett Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
The violet in color and clarity of this wine shows its overall vibrancy. Aromas of high-toned black currant, dark cherry and anise dance on the palate. Dark ripe berries, cassis, and light spice notes with hints of earthy notes yield a rich and smooth mid-palate. The finish is loaded with ripe and opulent fruit that is framed by firm, but supple, tannins gaining length and grace along the way.

Wine Advocate As for the 2015s, as you might expect from this high-quality vintage in Northern California, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon McGah Family Vineyard is a fruit bomb. Blackcurrants, blackberry, spring flowers and pen ink, in a full-bodied, in-your-face and rather flamboyant, dramatic style, are all part of its appeal and personality. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. I first tasted wine from the McGah Family Vineyard that was made by Russell Bevan, who has the knack for finding relatively unknown and obscure, but ultimately terroir treasures in Cabernet Sauvignon.
