Calera Mount Harlan Jensen Vineyard Fortieth Anniversary Vintage 2015
Winemaker Notes :
From vines planted in 1975, this gorgeous Pinot Noir effortlessly straddles the line between power and elegance, displaying silky, harmonious tannins and remarkable concentration and complexity. Layers of cherry, cola, violets, vanilla and fresh-cracked pepper linger long on the palate, supported by subtle oak and an elegant framework of acidity, which adds poise and definition to a long, complex finish.

Wine EnthusiastConcentrated aromas of red cherry liqueur, sagebrush and a hint of toasted oak show on the nose of this bottling, which is from a vintage that harvested less than a half-ton per acre from this vineyard. Sandalwood, chaparral scrub and earthy juniper play along with the cranberry and red plum flavors on the palate.
Wine SpectatorDistinctive for the dusty, chalky edge and tart blackberry and wild berry flavors, with a floral accent and a spicy aftertaste. Drink now through 2024. 432 cases made.
