Keever Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Lovely aromas of fresh black currants, baked cherry pie, dark vanilla, and hints of cocoa powder and pipe tobacco jump from the glass in this fully ripe Cabernet Sauvignon. At entry, the palate impression is soft, silky, broad and fruit-driven, then melts into a fresh, velvety mid-palate. Throughout, the dark ripe fruit flavors demand center-stage. The ripeness and purity of purple fruit flavors linger on throughout the finish, which displays a core of firm tannins wrapped up in a satiny finish.
Wine SpectatorOpens with lavish, seductive vanilla bean and mocha-scented oak notes, blending nicely with a core of rich dark berry, licorice and roasted coffee, gliding along smoothly and ending with a long, elegant finish. The fruit rides the oak in an engaging style. Best from 2017 through 2027. 600 cases made. -JL
Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is nearly equal in quality to the more expensive Reserve ORO. A spicy style of Cabernet with plenty of sweet tannin, blueberry and blackberry fruit, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon offers full body and outstanding ripeness as well as velvety, well-integrated tannins. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
