This oozes blackberries, plums and bergamot with underlying aromas of nori and fresh orchids. Licorice, black cherries, 5-spice and a small hint of vanilla evolve into a silky smooth mouthfeel that picks up a hint of graininess on the finish as it drives deeper on your palate.

Wine AdvocateUp with some of my favorite wines from winemaker Anthony Yount, the 2014 The Ditch Digger Denner Vineyard is a sensational blend of 60% Grenache, 15% each of Syrah and Mourvedre, and the balance Counoise and Cinsault. It offers a polished, elegant, yet full-bodied and textured style to go with killer purity in its sweet black raspberry and black currant fruit, dried herbs and pepper aromas and flavors. The purity here is truly fabulous and this is up with the top GSM blends coming out of California. Drink it any time over the coming decade.
