Roar Sierra Mar Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018
|Region||California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands|
A perfumed nose of dark berry and spice leads into dark fruit, herbs, and sandalwood on the palate in this dense expression of Pinot Noir. Notes of oregano and thyme mingle with a trace of coriander over dense blackberry and black cherry and extend through a finish full of fruit and textured by black tea and spice.
The 2018 Pinot Noir Sierra Mar Vineyard was all destemmed and will spend 11 months in French oak. It offers a beautiful, exotic bouquet of blueberries, wild strawberries, forest floor, mint, and violets. This gives way to a rich, textured, medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir that has a wonderful floral character, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish.
Powerfully structured, minerally and slate-driven, with hints of black pepper to the dark currant, raspberry and black olive flavors. Tarry nuances and dark chocolate notes emerge on the broad, enveloping finish. Drink now through 2025. 683 cases made.
