Carlisle Carlisle Vineyard 2015

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

A classic "Carlisle nose" of mint tea, iron, and crushed dark berries, including mulberry which has always been a hallmark of this vineyard. The palate is rich, expansive and savory. The fresh berry notes mirror those on the nose, bringing black raspberry, boysenberry and Mirabelle plum to the party. The finish is accented with Asian spices and a cocoa powder texture that is ultimately refreshed by the natural acidity of the wine. Another stunner from this fine old lady. Drink 2019 - 2030.

Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard is 88% Zinfandel and 12% mixed black varieties as well as a handful of white varieties such as Malvasia and Muscat. This is another killer wine, as it is always one of the top wines in his extensive and impressive portfolio. The alcohol is 15.3%, but that's a minor component to this big, juicy, succulent, in-your-face, dramatic Zinfandel that boasts raspberry, black cherry, strawberry, licorice, tar, earth and roasted Provençal herbs. It is spicy and elegant, but at the same time, heady, rich and generously endowed. Drink it over the next 7-10 years.

Wine EnthusiastFrom the producer's home vineyard in the heart of the appellation, this is dusty in plum, raspberry, black licorice and tobacco, with a lift of floral aromatics and grippy structure. It includes 12% mixed black and white varieties, from Grand Noir to Malvasia.
