Cornerstone Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

SKU 2127

Intriguingly fragrant aromatics of dark cherry, currants, savory dried herbs with a hint of cinnamon leap from the glass. The palate is greeted with energy and brightness with complex layers of rich dark fruits, dried herbs, dark chocolate and barrel spices surging through the mid-palate with a focused minerality. The tannins pick up weight throughout the palate and together with the wines balance and harmony carry through to an expansive finish.

Wine EnthusiastEverything about this Cabernet argues for cellaring. With a little Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it's enormously complex, with fruit flavors that range from blackberries and cherries to black currants. There's also a pleasant herbaceousness that suggests sweet green peas. The tannins are significant, so let it develop bottle complexity until 2016.

Wine SpectatorA chewy, earthy, rustic style, centered around dense, extracted earth, dried berry, leather and spice notes. Ends with a dry camphor edge. Drink now through 2024. 973 cases made.

Wine AdvocateThe 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa reveals subtle, but largely uninteresting aromatics, medium-bodied, sweet cherry flavors that are un-Cabernet-like, and a soft, round, easy-to-drink style.
