Paul Hobbs Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Wine EnthusiastFrom a warm vineyard site in a cool year, this Cab intrigues in sage and chewy black cherry, possessed of a powerful, buoyant minerality. Dark chocolate, tobacco and black tea frame the generous ripeness and velvety nature of the wine, which can withstand time in the cellar to commingle more, through 2021.
Wine AdvocateThe single vineyard offerings include the elegant 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, an impressive wine exhibiting a dense ruby/purple color, creamy richness, lots of creme de cassis, licorice and forest floor, a complete palate from the attack to the finish with no holes, vegetal characteristics or astringency. While less powerful than this cuvee can be in a great vintage, it still delivers the goods. Drink it over the next decade.
Wine SpectatorWell-proportioned, showing a mix of dusty berry, loamy earth, cedar and crushed rock flavors that carry through the finish. Drink now through 2026. 792 cases made.
