Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätlese 2016Winery Notes: The Juffer vineyard surrounds the smaller Juffer Sonnenuhr on three sides, extending both upstream and downstream, as well as above the sundial. This vineyard produces lighter, more delicate wines than the warmer, riper Sonnenuhr. The late-picked Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätlese has fine, forceful fruit in the aroma, a linear focus on the palate and a pure slate finish. A great choice for spicy dishes with fresh flavors and a lively sweet/tart balance.
J. Lohr Hilltop Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 375ml 2016 375mlWinemaker Notes: Early seasonal rains were short of average, but the timing was ideal for vine health and wine quality in 2016. Every phenological marker, from budbreak in spring to bloom and veraison in the summer, occurred 1 to 2 weeks earlier than normal. Cabernet buds pushed around the middle of March, following heavy rains earlier in the month. The vine canopy growth propelled through the spring, bouyed by additional light rains in April and an ideal bloom period in early May. Tannin structure for 2016 was amplified by a warm veraison period beginning the third week of July. Good ripening weather brought the Hilltop Cabernet harvest in early, with our highest elevation blocks harvested the second week of October showing the dark color and ripe fruit flavors this wine is known for. 2016 Hilltop Cabernet shows dark fruit, chocolate, graphite and anise on the nose. The palate is dense and soft at once with layers of mineral, sweet oak barrel and fresh savory notes. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc

Leo Steen Saini Farms Chenin Blanc 2017Winemaker Notes : This wine has alluring weight and richness, a silky texture and subtle aromas of Chamomile, green apple, quince, lemon verbena and white flowers. The palate offers a medley of herbal and tea notes, as well as hints of wet riverstone minerality that carries through to a lingering almost salty finish. After years of searching for just the right Chenin Blanc to work with, I found what I was looking for in the 37-year-old vines of Saini Farms in Dry Creek Valley. Planted in Yolo sandy loam soils on an old river bottom site, these dry-farmed vines produce grapes that capture the fresh, enticing purity that can be achieved when Chenin Blanc is grown with care and respect.

Turley Juvenile Zinfandel 2017Winery Notes: Though the vast majority of our wines are single vineyard designates, Juvenile is actually composed of a variety of young vines that have been replanted in several of our old vine sites. We tag the vine when we replant it so as not to mix the brand new vine with its much older neighbors, then pick these young vines separately and make a distinct wine. The vines that make up Juvenile range in age from about 6-25 years, and we pull from 15 of our vineyards across California, including Hayne, Ueberroth, Pesenti, Salvador, and Vineyard 101.

Red Car Rosé of Pinot Noir 2017 1.5LWinery Notes: The 2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir was harvested at a cool 21° Brix and immediately whole cluster pressed, crafted in true vin gris style, fermented like a white wine without skin or seed contact. This enticingly aromatic wine is bone dry, delicate in structure, with racy acidity, and 12.9% alcohol. Consistent with the 2016 vintage, we blended two cool-climate appelations: Sonoma Coast (38%) and Mendocino Ridge (62%). The Manchester Ridge Vineyard and Mariah Vineyard from the Mendocino Ridge appellation sit at about 2000 feet elevation, situated extremely close to the vast Pacific Ocean, offering us unparalleled acidity. The vineyards from the Sonoma Coast appellation are all located within 8 miles of the coastline, set in the rolling hills of the West Sonoma Coast. Fruit from these vineyards perfectly complement those from Mendocino, offering ideal conditions to achieve the crisp, lively style of Rose we strive to produce. Taste: Ruby red grapefruit, lychee, strawberry, tangerine, blossoms.
Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend 2015Winemaker Notes : The essence of time is expressed in Opus One by the character of each vintage. Blend: 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 2% Malbec
Lucia Gary's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016Crushed violets and wild strawberries. Gentle, elegant tannins have become a common thread of running through this Garys' Vineyard wine and contribute to its approachable character and versatility with foods. Selective amounts of whole cluster and 100% native fermentation add greater depth and complexity to the long texture. Enjoy now or age in the cellar for a decade.
Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Chardonnay 2017Winery Notes: This 2017 vintage Napa Chardonnay is a serious athlete - fleet-footed and marathon ready with fast-twitch muscle tone. Ripe with stone fruits, caramel apple and white flower blossoms the nose is expressive and alluring. Walter Hansel North Slope Pinot Noir 2016From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 10/28/16, issue 227: "100% Dijon clone 115, also performed spectacularly, no doubt because of the extremely tiny yields. This wine has a dense purple color, a gorgeously compelling nose of forest floor, spring flowers, blue, red and black fruits, followed by a full-bodied, layered and concentrated Pinot Noir that is as light as a ballerina on the palate, but at the same time, intense and rich. The finish just goes on and on. Drink it over the next decade or more." 810 cases produced.

Luli Pinot Noir 2017Winemaker Notes: With a brilliant garnet hue, the 2017 Luli Pinot Noir bursts from the glass with powerful aromatics of Bing cherry, strawberry cream, and baked plum. The morning fog and coastal breezes that pour into the Santa Lucia Highlands envelop the palate in the form of rose petal, blackberry crumble, red currant, and sage undertones. These rugged slopes stress the vines, producing fruit of exceptional complexity and structure, which reflect in the wine’s lively acidity and elegant tannin. This wine’s expansive, lingering finish allows for pairing with a wide variety of dishes.
Domaine Besson Givry Le Haut Colombier 2016Winemaker Notes : From a parcel of Le Petit Pretan that is not 1er Cru, it is a fresher, more brightly-stained version of its 1er Cru cousin, with a mouthwatering combination of fruit and game. This wine has outstanding energy and a high pitch to the very pure red berry and floral flavors. Tactile, palate-staining wine.
Lewis Cellars Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winery Note: There is distinct power and complexity to our 2016 Reserve Cabernet. Navy blue-black yet brilliant in color the wine is front-loaded with ripe fruit of crushed currants and berries. Secondary notes bring mineral and earth aromas laced with sweet anise and oak spice. Packed with fruit on entry, a dusky, sinewy character develops on the palate with fine-grained tannins tailing to the finish.
Hobel The Grain 2016Winemaker Notes: As always, we feel that focusing on the vineyard is essential to have great fruit to work with and, in turn, producing quality wines. In addition to having mature, well farmed vineyards for both of our Hobel bottlings, we had a favorable growing season with none of the stress of the previous vintages. Beautiful and bountiful fruit came in and vinifications progressed smoothly. The resulting wines are continuing to evolve now that they are bottled and it’s evident that there are no missing components. The 2016s could possibly be the best set of wines yet from Hobel. The 2016 Hobel The Grain marks our eighth release from this exceptional vineyard. Once again, this wine shows super-expressive savory notes of olive, bay leaf, black walnut, grilled meat and wood spice. Swirling releases beautiful dark fruit - plums, blackberries and black cherries. This wine is less forward than the 2015, yet it holds just as much or more in reserve. The palate is extremely dense, led by plum and followed by cassis, chocolate and chewy, dusty, spicy tannin. As with prior vintages, we think this wine always benefits from some bottle age. The 2016 Grain is a blend of clones 4, 6 and 30. The wine was raised in 75% new French oak from Remond and Baron. - Thomas Rivers Brown
Carlisle Papa's Block Syrah 2017Very dark purple-ruby. Nearly opaque. A heady, intoxicating nose of blackberry, smoked meats, and herbs. Smells deliciously savory. Totally compelling and a wine of great beauty and harmony.
Carlisle Piner-Olivet Ranches Zinfandel 2017Winemaker Notes: Medium-dark to dark garnet-ruby. Intense aromas of cherry, cactus pear (tuna or higo chumbo in Spanish, I ate a lot of them as a child), pomegranate, and a subtle note of baking spice. Full-bodied but so well-balanced. Flavors of red and black fruits linger in the long and powerful finish. Compared to the ’16, slightly darker in profile yet this offers more immediate enjoyment. Drink this lip-smackin’ Zinfandel from release through 2026.

Continuum Proprietary Red 2014A dense purple robe and vibrant violet rim lead to aromas of cassis, cardamom, espresso and graphite. 2014 shows purity of site and fruit; a core of black plum and cherry, intertwined with layers of exotic spice, heightened by ripe, polished tannins, natural vibrancy and a long silky finish. Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico Famiglia Zingarelli Riserva 2015Winemaker Notes : Ruby red tending towards garnet. Rich, intense and complex. Dry, soft, gently tannic with good structure. This wine is particularly well suited to dishes of red meat, roasts and game.
Red Stitch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Tasting Notes: A blend of three Cabernet vineyards in Coombsville, the cool southern area of Napa, plus a touch of Malbec, this is a dense wine, chewy and opaque. It’s fragrant, highly expressive and savory on the nose: pungent cured olives; bay leaf. Despite its considerable size, it’s highly structured, with tannins and acid that have years of mellowing ahead of them, framing a core of brooding black fruit that hasn’t quite yet emerged in full force. A ripe, generous wine fit for a steak.
Patricia Green Reserve Pinot Noir 2017Winemaker Notes : This bottling comes from terrific sources. This is extremely high-quality wine across the board. Four Dundee Hills sites ranging in vine age from 18-44 years make up about 30% of the bottling. Another third (slightly more) comes from the winery's Estate Vineyard and almost all of the rest from the Freedom Hill vineyard. What other Oregon winery blends such high-quality barrels and charges less than $30/bottle? There are seriously great bones here and this wine will stand up to many much higher priced bottlings.
Vilmart & Cie Grand Cellier d'Or Brut 2013Tasting Notes: Intense, golden, lemon and yellow in colour with very fine persistent bubbles. These small pearls give birth on the surface to a beautiful white cord. Melted butter, custard, candled pineapple, cardamom and with pepper are the notes that reach us directly. Then after a few moment, another round of flavors arrives, nuts aromas at first (pralines, hazelnut) followed by mineral notes (chalk, roasted shellfish). The wine is mature, complex with a lot of personality. It still evolves in the glass with cinnamon and gingerbread aromas. The imperceptible dosage and the frank acidity give us a sharp acid / sugar balance extra brut type. The vinosity is expressed through bold and wood. The finish is very long around 10 to 12 seconds and clean, with a nice conclusion on grapefruit and pralines notes. Food Pairing: Too complex food pairing should be avoided to keep the wine balance. It firm texture and mature aromatic profile, will lead the wine to seek products preferably like caviar or with dishes with firm texture (lobster, white meats) and reduced sauces.
DuMol Wester Reach Pinot Noir 2016Winemaker Notes: Complex, layered aromas - red cherry, black pepper, hibiscus and orange peel - are wonderfully bright and fresh while cranberry and pomegranate, wild thyme and underbrush lend fine detail. The broad fruit entry possesses great lift - juicy and vibrant, then immediately deep and layered. The mid-palate is succulent and round with cherry liqueur and rhubarb flavors which extend on fresh acidity through the long, black peppercorn-infused finish. Drink between 2018 and 2026.
Carnivor Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winemaker Notes : This boldly blended California Cabernet Sauvignon is an exceptional complement to your favorite red meat, layered with hints of rich blackberry, luscious caramel, and smooth toasted oak. Savor this feast for the glass with the juicy feast at your table. Carnivor is perfect with red meat, and provides a captivating complement to any cut. Tonight, add a little predator to your prey. Vilmart & Cie Coeur de Cuvée 2010Tasting Notes : From a celebrated vintage and made from vines that are over 50 years old and . This translates into concentration on the palate, yet with aging gives this wine a finesse that is Vilmart's signature. Coeur de Cuvée is the heart of Vilmart's very best. All first-press, free-run juice, this has become an iconic Champagne. 80 % Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay fermented and rested in a mix of new and old barriques. Rich yet elegant, with spice and a creamy texture.
Taken Napa Valley Red Blend 2016Winemaker Notes: Dark garnet red with a purple hue. The nose of this opulent blend is incredibly flashy with abundant aromas of red currant, raspberry, blackberry cobbler, spice and a hint of underbrush. The French oak is subtle, yet present. This powerful wine boasts copious amounts of juicy, ripe red fruit characteristics and is extraordinarily soft and supple. In addition, hints of lingering milk chocolate and cherry truffle notes dance on the back palate.
DuMol Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2016Winemaker Notes: We harvested a strict selection from our three favorite micro-parcels within the wider Estate Vineyard: higher-elevation areas where the soils transition from fluffy/sandy to richer clay. As such, the wine balances sandy soil aromatic intensity—tart fruits, floral and spice notes, and an herbal vein—with richer, deeper clay-derived body and depth—cherry compote, dark fruits and obvious texture. There’s gorgeous elemental Pinot flavor throughout: zesty, linear and focused with a long granular structure that offers extended aging potential of 10 to 12 years. Start drinking your allocation sometime in mid-2019 but know the wine’s fullest expression will likely emerge between 2020 and 2024.
Ferraton Pere & Fils Côtes du Rhône Samorëns 2016Winemaker Notes : Grapes are destemmed, maceration for about three weeks, extraction made by pumping over and punching down. Levendi Sweetwater Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winemaker Notes: A big, exuberant nose of mocha and black cherry aromas, cradled with notes of five-spice and black licorice. The palate had a pleasant jammy entry with plum and black cherry fruit. Plushy, velvety fruit on the finish with soft tannin to remember that it is really Cabernet.
Paul Hobbs Hyde Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017Dense violet in color, this exceptional pinot noir sets the stage with aromas of blue fruits and dried sage. Supple and earthy, the wine opens slowly with ripe flavors of blackberry, black cherry and hints of potpourri. The rich concentration of the wine is complemented by supple tannins and fresh acidity.
Paul Hobbs Richard Dinner Vineyard Chardonnay 2017Winery Notes: Deep straw in color, the 2016 Chardonnay from the Richard Dinner Vineyard offers singular aromas of holiday spice, gardenia, blood orange, and yellow apple peel. Delicate flavors of Forelle pear, rich, flaky pie crust, and earthy white and gray clays are complemented by the wine’s structural depth and weight, yet vaulted by an overall freshness and focused acidity. Highlight this wine’s complexity by pairing with Boudin blanc, fresh pappardelle pasta lightly dressed with lemon cream, or a fresh corn soufflé.
Peter Michael Belle Cote Chardonnay 2017Winemaker Notes: Very intense and powerful, the nose reveals hedonistic aromas of lychee nut, rose petal and orange blossom, with a background of mineral, candied orange, yellow peach, crème brûlée, nougat, whole nut and toasted almond. The rich seamless palate is very creamy and weighty in the mouth. Notes of pain grillé, marmalade, brioche and hazelnut coupled with natural acidity and minerality complete the mouth feel. The 2017 Belle Côte is enjoyable now and will continue to develop for a decade or more.
DuMol Ritchie Vineyard Chloe Chardonnay 2016Winemaker Notes: Certainly, the richest and most forward Chardonnay of the vintage, this is the designate to drink first; sometime in late 2018 is a good start date. The wine brims with yellow peach, nectarine and honeysuckle flavors, offset by more savory mint leaf, fresh thyme and sweet hay characters. While possessing a restrained power at its core, it is fruit-driven and layered with a broad textural range perfectly balanced by a lively acidic backbone that provides an element of tension to buffer all the natural richness. Drink between 2019 and 2022.
Patricia Green Volcanic Pinot Noir 2017Winemaker Notes : From the Dundee Hills one should expect sweetness of fruit in the mid-palate combined with a variety of spices common to Pinot Noir, but perhaps most decidedly is the nature of the texture. The wines from this region should have a remarkable silky nature with satin-y tannins that allow the fruit to linger. This bottling is a wine truly born of volcanic soils that shows all of these elements in spades and is the baseline for all our Dundee Hill bottlings.
Vilmart & Cie Cuvée Rubis NVWinemaker Notes : The color is pink salmon. The effervescence is long-lasting and leaves to a delicate mousse. This wine is rich and elegant. On the nose, it develops intense red-fruits aromas (strawberries and wild raspberries). This wine is full in body and well-balanced, very pure and full of interesting nuances
