Galerie Pleinair Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Winemaker Notes : Pleinair presents Laura’s interpretation of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The name refers to the French painters’ method of painting outdoors (en plein air), which developed around the same time as Napa’s first European-style vineyards in the 1800s. Laura blends fruit from vineyards with diverse soil types to bring complexity and depth to the finished wine, which shows rich black fruit, spice and floral notes with a firm tannin structure and balanced acidity. The 2014 Galerie Napa Valley Pleinair is a big but elegant expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. Deep purple, it opens with aromas of cassis, currants and wild berries and follows with tobacco, graphite, bay leaf and licorice, finishing with layers of flavors and a well-balanced, long mouthfeel with elegant tannins.

Roederer Estate L’Ermitage Anderson Valley Brut 2012Winemaker Notes : L’Ermitage, Roederer Estate’s special Tête de Cuvée, is a sparkling wine made only in exceptional years from pre-selected, estate-grown grapes. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, Roederer Estate produces its sparkling wines in the traditional French méthode traditionelle and adds special oak-aged reserve wines to each blend. L’Ermitage debuted with the 1989 vintage. Fine tiny bubbles and a long lasting mousse are the usual footprints of the L’Ermitage cuvee. Grilled peach and brioche aromas are followed by a citrus and pomelo taste. The creamy richness is lifted by a clean acidity for a long and pleasant finish.
