Bodegas La Cana Albariño 2016Winemaker Notes: Where the steep hillside vineyards meet the tranquil rias, you'll find groves of rush canes known locally as juncos, which are as emblematic of Galicia as the Albariño grape itself. Offering lush aromas of white peaches and ripe pears followed by flavors of pineapple and bright citrus, the wine finishes on a crisp dry note.
Paul Hobbs Nathan Coombs Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2013Building on the exceptional flavor profile of this vineyard, the 2013 shows great concentration and finesse. The opaque black color with a brilliant purple rim primes the sense for the rich boysenberry and cassis aromas. Bodegas Breca Garnacha Aragón Old Vines 2015Winery Notes: An authentic, natural, and traditional wine produced from the original Garnacha, which was first cultivated in Aragón in the 7th Century, and spread around Europe by the Medieval Kingdom of Aragón. Calatayud produces a unique expression of Garnacha due to its geographic and climactic conditions. As Spain's highest altitude region for the production of Garnacha, the temperature swings are radical - up to 60°F in the summer. This produces wines with deep color and character, as well as lively acidity. The wine is characterized by aromas of ripe black fruit compote, overlaid with spices such as black pepper. There is an obvious minerality to the wine, proceeding from vineyards’ diverse range of soil types. The soils range from iron rich red slate and clay to black slate.

Bevan Tench EE 2016
Molnar Family Poseidon Vineyard Chardonnay 2016Winery Notes: The aroma opens with notes of fresh pears, tuberose, citrus blossoms and tangerine peel. Honey and graham cracker compliment the vanilla scents. With a soft entry on the palate, the wine bursts into lively, high tones of apples and citrus. Shafer Relentless 2015Winemaker Notes: Once again our Syrah and Petite Sirah vineyard in the sloping foothills of the Vaca Mountains has yielded a dark, liquid feast of great richness and depth. The first pour offers an endlessly rich density of meaty, smoky, black fruit aromas while the wine saturates the mouth with deep flavors of black licorice, bramble fruit, black pepper, allspice, bacon, and char. All of this opulence is energized with underlying acidity and bound together with structured, ripe tannins built for very long term ageability.
VML Limited Release Pinot Noir 2015Winery Note: This wine is bursting with aromas of lavender, sandalwood, dried cranberry and cocoa. The palate starts with ripe blackberry, plum and black cherry. Vanilla and dark chocolate flavors lead into high notes of raspberry. The wine has focused acidity, balanced tannins and a smooth finish that will continue to soften over time.
Hunt and Harvest Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winery Notes: The nose is layered with black cherry, blueberries, cassis, and has touches of dark spices, black tea, and charred oak. The palate is fruit forward, supple in the middle and finishes with long, soft tannins. Aging in 25% new French oak barrels adds structure and complexity to the fruit. An early bud break, wet spring soils, and a long growing season produced a vintage with excellent quality. A wet spring started fast and rapid growth was met with average summer temperatures, which slowed development and reduced yields. The result was a moderate crop of well-concentrated fruit that ripened fully and slowly before an early harvest.
Austin Hope Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winemaker Notes : Dark ruby in color, the 2016 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon expresses aromas of freshly picked black currants, ripe black cherries and blackberries, with subtle notes of violets, mocha and dried spices. On the palate, it’s a big, powerful, modern-styled wine layered with heaps of juicy blackberry and cherry fruit, while nuances of cedar, clove, nutmeg and vanilla bean round out the long smooth finish. It’s full-bodied and rich, balanced by fresh acidity and firm, polished tannins.

This wine should be consumed within 3 years of its vintage for those looking for the primary stone fruit and pear notes which Viognier can convey. The wine will age gracefully for a minimum of 4 years with proper storage, but secondary flavors will steadily overcome the aromatics and fresh fruitiness.

Domaine de la Charbonniere Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Hautes Brusquières Cuvée Spéciale 2015This cuvee is usually made of Grenache (70%) and Syrah (30%) The vines are between 30 to 50 years old. All the grapes come from the Brusquières plateau, in the north of Châteauneuf du Pape, where we can find the famous round pebbles and a clayey subsoil Since 2000, we have decided to destem and to crush all grapes. Fermentation is in wood and stainless vats. Vatting lasts 3 to 5 weeks, depending on the vintage at a temperature between 25 and 30°C. A release or a punching of the cap is done every 2 days and pumping over every day. The malolactic fermentation happens in barrels and vats. Ageing continues in barrels and big oak tanks during 12 - 18 months depending on the vintage.

The texture is refined, the tannins well-integrated, and the entire wine deeply intricate and harmonious.
Roar Sierra Mar Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016Winemaker Notes: Highlighted by spice, leather and dark fruit notes with a bright edge, the 2016 Sierra Mar Pinot Noir combines richness with lifted accents. Dry sagebrush and hints of cedar mingle with rose petals over dense blackberry jam and ripe black fruit with a decadent palate and an expansive, mouth-filling finish.
Alban Vineyards Patrina Syrah 2015Winery Note: Patrina 2015 shows the classic elements of cool climate Syrah: dark color, silty tannins, white pepper, leather, smoke, and meat atop blue and black fruits all elevated with floral notes. 600 cases aged 28 months in 50% new French oak, bottled unfined and unfiltered using gravity.

The palate is round, supple and dominated by fruity and spicy complexity, with a mineral taste and a long finish.
Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winery Note: Juicy, ripe and fruitful our 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet captures the kitchen aromas of home jam-making. Flush with fruit, dusky, dense and polished the wine finishes with cushy, dark-chocolate tannins.
Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir 2015Winery Notes: The bouquet possesses a lovely mix of richness, fruit and savory like blackberry pie; quite comforting. On the palate we find intriguing hints of pink rose, briar, red currant, violets and spice; this Pinot has an alluring silky texture with deep flavors of black cherry, baking spice and a whisper of licorice. It's nicely structured and lingers beautifully on the finish.
Goldeneye Pinot Noir 2015Winemaker Notes : Combining the lush fruit of our warmer Anderson Valley estate vineyards with the rustic elegance of grapes from the cooler “deep end” of the valley. This is a rich and beautifully textured Pinot Noir with velvety tannins and bright acidity. On the palate, flavors of candied cherry and dark plum are underscored by deeper notes of forest floor. The finish is long and supple, with lively fruit and just a touch of French oak.
Roar Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2016Winemaker Notes: Drawing on aspects of all of our vineyards … a wonderful expression of what the region has to offer. Dark fruit, leather, and toasted oak with light overtones of honey evolve into blackberry, cola and cherry, opening to include chocolate shavings and floral accents. A woody, almost evergreen, perfume enriches the lower-tone fruit through a long, dense, meaty finish full of tobacco, leather, cherry and blackberry.
Orin Swift 8 Years in Desert 2016Winemaker’s Notes: Dark garnet with a lucid rim, the wine exhibits aromas of briar fruit, ripe blackberry and dark plum with a tinge of minerality and charred meat. Brawny on the entry, it has an equally big mid-palate with complex flavors of ripe brambly fruit, a touch of earth and notes of espresso bean. Still massive through to the finish with soft drying tannins, the unique varietal characteristics of the blend clearly reveal themselves over time. AVAs: 87% Dry Creek Valley, 13% Red Hills Lake County Blend: 56% Zinfandel, 34% Petite Sirah, 10% Syrah
Walter Hansel The Meadows Vineyard Chardonnay 2015This is a new vineyard designated offering from 100% Hanzell Selection grown in a low-land Meadow contiguous to the Santa Rosa Creek. It is dry farmed each year and requires extensive shoot and crop thinning due to extremely fertile conditions. The result has underlining tropical flavors and is the most tropical of any of the Walter Hansel chardonnays.
Jax Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winery Note: Opening with aromas of blackberries, cassis and forest floor, this indulgent and concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon showcases great length and focus on the palate. Already elegant and well-structured at its release, this wine will continue to evolve in complexity and refinement for many years to come. Blend: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc.
Domaine des Bosquets La Colline Gigondas 2016Winery Notes: The inaugural vintage of La Colline was in 2013, not an auspicious year for Grenache, but this site planned high in the Dentelles in 1975 weathered the inclement Spring weather well. The soils here are rocky, clay limestone with a high chalk content making for wines that are rich with exceedingly fine tannins.
Domaine de la Charbonniere Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2016Wine Spectator 93 Points Fresh and lively, with lots of green almond, pear and white peach flavors liberally laced with verbena and acacia notes. A bright mineral streak and a twinge of star fruit add length and cut to the finish. Drink now through 2022. 486 cases made. James Molesworth - November 2017
Paul Lato Le Souvenir Sierra Madre Vineyard 2016Winery Notes: The wine posses a powerful and exuberant nose of light butterscotch toffee, and grilled toast with nuances of vanilla, new French oak, and lemon curd. It is dry, yet plenty rich in its taste, with medium plus body, voluptuous and round texture, and nuances of minerals. The seamless integration of new French oak provides plenty of structure, and leads into a gracefully dry finish, inviting you to take another sip. One of our favorite dishes to pair is a creamy Lobster risotto in light saffron spice.
Frank Family Pinot Noir 2017Winemaker Notes: Opens with aromas of cinnamon stick, cardamom, and fresh raspberries. The palate offers a soft, balanced structure framed by elegant tannins with flavors of cherry pie, violets, and baking spices followed by a long, decadent finish.
Benovia La Pommeraie 2015Winemaker Notes : This extraordinary single vineyard Pinot Noir gives an immediate impression of depth and concentration in the glass, with remarkably explosive aromas of dark plum and boysenberry. The palate is viscous and rich, yet light on its feet, with fine polished tannins and an exceptionally balanced acidity. Whole clusters were once again included in the fermentation - to give the wine a broader mouthfeel. Although delicious upon release, we expect this wine to improve with cellaring for 6-8 years from vintage date.
C. Beck Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Winemaker Notes: Sourced from the Barlow vineyard, our wine has a nose of ripe black cherry and sweet vanilla. The palate is soft and luscious with flavors of dark plum and blackberry. Finishing with soft supple tannins. 244 cases produced. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Walter Hansel Cuvée Alyce Pinot Noir 2015Winery Notes: Alyce was my Mom and she was the life of the party. There is a section of vineyard right in the middle of the North slope where the soils are very heavy adobe clay resulting in the vines struggling to produce a crop more than 1 ton to the acre. It is a field blend of clone 777 and 115. This minimal crop yield tends to produce wines that are big, rich, "over the top" flavors; perfect for "Alyce"
Rivers-Marie Panek Vineyard 2016Winery Notes: Better informed farming continues to elevate not just the blocks in this bottling but also all the blocks we harvest at Panek. It makes our blending decisions more difficult each year but that extra work is certainly worth the extra quality in a wine like this 2016. The vineyard does best in muscular years so this version reminds me more of the 2013 as opposed to the 2014 or 2015. There’s more apparent fruit than in the 2013 to stand up to the structure of the vintage. This wine has calmed considerably during its last 6 or so months in barrel. It was a bit brooding for the first year of its life (odd for Panek) but that character only hinted at the concentration contained within. Now that it has unwound a bit, the trademark brown sugar note has emerged but here joined by a blackberry/cassis note. Loamy black soil, dried herbs and sweet tobacco complete the experience by adding a strong sense of varietal character to the mix, another hallmark of the vintage. This is a structured Panek for sure but with all other great 2016s, there is a sense of balance across all components of the wine that provides good early drinkability.
Keever Vineyards Inspirado 2013Winery Notes: Aromas of dark purple berries, mulling spices, toasted hazelnuts and wild anise waft from the glass when one swirls this ripe, complex Bordeaux-style blend. On the palate, the wine shows a texture of dark chocolate; thick and rich with just enough textural grip to add a sense of youth to the finish. Multi-layered sensations of toast, vanilla, ripe fruit and mineral notes weave themselves through the palate impression, with a lingering sense of ripe, intense cassis.
Krug Krug Rosé 21ème Édition NVWinery Notes: Krug Rosé – a relatively recent addition to the House – is an unexpected rosé Champagne combining distinction and boldness. Inspired by the dream of the fifth generation of the House of Krug to conceive a rosé Champagne that did not yet exist, every year a new Édition of Krug Rosé is created. Krug Rosé 21ème Édition is a blend of 57 wines, the youngest of which dates back to 2008 and the oldest to 2000. Krug Rosé is both unexpected and daring. It shows a broad and extensive aromatic palette, unusual for a Rosé Champagne. As you taste Krug Rosé, you will discover harmonies of puff pastry and red-berry tart, which develop towards honey and citrus fruits. Its floral accents and notes of dried or stewed fruit will enthral your palate. Its extreme delicacy is enhanced by the subtlety of its fine and elegant bubbles.
McGah Family Cellars Scarlett Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winemaker Notes: Flirting with perfection, the 2016 McGah Family Cabernet Sauvignon is a seamless, flawless and a compelling Rutherford beauty. Unbelievable complexity and layers intermingle with aromas of berry compote, cassis with a black cherry core that jumps from the glass. The mid palate is a silky flow of abundant blue and black fruits, followed with an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel. The integrated structure and polished tannins carry through to a detailed and long finish. This blend from five of our Cabernet Sauvignon blocks on the estate showcases what an amazing terroir the McGah Family Vineyard is. Allow two to three years for it to mellow out or enjoy it in its prime five to ten years out. It’s an absolute pleasure to release this wine. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Prisoner Wine Company Saldo Red 2016Our winemaking team works with a family of growers to source a diverse variety of grapes from premier vineyards throughout California. The resulting wines are interesting blends of distinct quality and character.
Shafer TD-9 Proprietary Red 2016“This second vintage of TD-9 offers bright, energetic aromas and flavors of red plum, raspberry, strawberry, spice box, exotic fruit, and red licorice. Shafer Hillside Select Cabernet Sauvignon 2014“The 2014 vintage opens with an aromatic wave of deep, intense fruit and spices such as black plum, blackberry pie filling, cassis, and anise, along with nutmeg, dark toast, and dried rose petals. The energy in the nose is just as dramatic in the mouth with open, beautiful ripeness, mocha, briar fruit, pomegranate, baking spice, and ripe tannins that collectors will recognize as offering the promise of sensational things to come in the cellar.” — Elias Fernandez, winemaker
Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2015Winery Notes: In a 41 hectare estate, there is only 1 hectare of white varieties: Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Roussanne in roughly equal proportions. The Grenache and Clairette is pressed directly into tank upon reaching the cellar where it is fermented and aged on its lees. The Roussanne is harvested in several passes and pressed into French oak for fermentation and aging. The final wine is blended and bottled in the spring after the harvest.
Domaine du Trapadis Esprit Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2015Winemaker Notes: A red based Grenache territorial and animated by great freshness, which comes from the Rhone Valley. The olfactory bouquet is Mediterranean and fruity, with scents of aromatic herbs and undergrowth in evidence; the sip is clean, alive and vibrant.
Beaux Freres The Upper Terrace Pinot Noir 2016Winemaker Notes : This is a wine of impressive elegance and uncompromising intensity. To say it is balanced would not begin to describe the character of this vintage. It is playful, expansive, plush, and generously resonant in its youth. Already there are hints of forest moss and river rock that we expect to unfold into a full adventure throughout decades.
